It's too bad Jeb didn't run before. He's maybe the best of the lot.
But another Bush just ain't gonna happen this time around. But who knows... maybe later.

As a Florida resident, I honestly believe Jeb would have been a better President than Dubya. Jeb was an excellent governor and chief executive (with a few missteps).
As an American, however, I believe I could live a long and happy life without another Bush in the Oval Office.

Out of curiousity, what does your user name mean? To me it sounds like a throw-away name you picked at the time you signed up for FR, and the only things you seem to post are anti-Bush.

He won't run. The Bush's will lay low for Jeb's son to run in the future.

"How do we sustain a long-term fight against the jihadists, especially in a free society that's used to immediate gratification?" he said. "And how do we recognize the importance of wholesome family life, virtues that are timeless, that really have been the linchpin of our country? I like the guy. I'm afraid another Bush will be Bush overload, but he's better than almost anyone out there. He's articulate, fairly charismatic, and generally pretty principled. My preferences are Cheney, who would need a bionic heart, maybe we could get Disney Animatronics to trick something up... Rice, who says she doesn't want it, and Jeb Bush.
And, now, Bolton. Thats a guy who needs to be in higher office.

The sad thing is that he's far more capable than his brother.
Even so, I'll never vote for a bush or clinton.

It is time to move on....

If his name weren't "Bush" ,Jeb would be the next GOP nominee and the next POTUS.
I understand the dynasty thing, but is there anyone more qualified or temperamentally suited on the political scene today?

With the utmost respect to Jeb Bush, who I like, and who seems to be much more articulate than W (and therefore much tougher for the left to lampoon):
Will America say yes to such a thing? By then we will have had GHW Bush 8 years as VP, than 4 years, Pres., and his son 8 years as Pres.
That is 20 years of a Bush in the White House!
After 20 years, will the electorate really be willing to extend that to 24, or even 28, years?
The Clintons 'only' had 8 years! Heck, Hillary could win 8 years (very slim but possible), with Jeb STILL old enough afterwards for eight years of his own. And that leaves 16 years for Clinton and Co. to groom CHELSEA for office!
SOMEONE STOP ME BEFORE I GO COMPLETELY MENTAL!
At what point does this truly become a dynastic Bush reign engineered by the elite, totally out of the public's hands, except for a questionable 'ratification' every term by the public? A 'consumer' public who has NO control over the nominees (party hacks only, please) and who is deftly marketed by a consumer-savvy marketing industry?
Jim, check my oil, I think I'm down a quart.

Bush has already said that he's not running for President in 08. Even VP seems a bit far-fetched.
The question is whether the Nation will be ready for another Bush in 2012.

JEB! may be setting himself up for a shot at the VP nomination. The thought is that he may be used to help secure the conservative vote should Giuliani or McCain get the nomination.
1972 was the last year in which neither a Bush nor a Dole were on the GOP ticket.
