I hope we are listening to him.

Only those who want to see the US defeated could support the ISG recommendations.

Let me remind everyone of the excerpt from Bin Laden's fatwa against the US, that I have on my FR home page:

Excerpt from Bin Laden's Declaration of War on the US in 1996

""But your most disgraceful case was in Somalia; where- after vigorous propaganda about the power of the USA and its post cold war leadership of the new world order- you moved tens of thousands of international force, including twenty eight thousands American solders into Somalia.

However, when tens of your solders were killed in minor battles and one American Pilot was dragged in the streets of Mogadishu you left the area carrying disappointment, humiliation, defeat and your dead with you. Clinton appeared in front of the whole world threatening and promising revenge , but these threats were merely a preparation for withdrawal. You have been disgraced by Allah and you withdrew; the extent of your impotence and weaknesses became very clear. It was a pleasure for the "heart" of every Muslim and a remedy to the "chests" of believing nations to see you defeated in the three Islamic cities of Beirut , Aden and Mogadishu. "

If this is what Bin Laden said after Somalia, just think what the terrorists will say, if we withdraw from Iraq before the job is done. THIS is where the Dems want to take the US: back into weakness, which emboldens terrorists.

What? I thought UBL was a contributing member of the ISG committee? No?

I think President Bush realizes this. I think he'll stay the course, but work on speeding things up a bit where he can.

As I see it, there IS no other way to get over this hill than to go through it. The Dems and Libs just posture away because they see this too, but were born to be nattering neigh-bobs of negativity. (Or maybe they are as clueless as they appear? Yeah. That's more likely, LOL!)

While I'm all for more fire power and @ss kickin' of terrorists, I'm thinking this thing called 'Democracy' has it's own timetable, which we can do little about.

How old is OUR Democracy again? Didn't it just happen overnight with no bloodshed and everyone involved just sitting around, holding hands and singing Kumbaya? *Wink*

Wish he would have said this earlier and often. It's a little late now, after the rats already took congress.

Be assured, that President Bush is more than interested in continuing the presence of US and coalition forces in Iraq, he is committed to continue the support to the last hour of the last day of his term of office.

Beyond Bush, nobody may be certain of what support will be provided to the nascent Iraqi elective representative republic form of government that now exists. The Dem'crats in Congress do not have much devotion to that ideal, and none of the neighboring countries have much use for such a revolutionary concept in their midst. As far as preserving and extending democratic ideals in the Middle East is concerned, the future of Israel is more than a little doubtful, ESPECIALLY if Dem'crats do manage to send a President to the White House. We have it on no less than the authority of a former Dem'crat President, that the Palestinians are fully justified, and the Jews should be driven from Israel into the sea. This, of course, will immediately put out the fires that fuel the unrest in the Middle East, and the world can get back to normal.

Well, Dem'crat-normal. Endlessly pandering and cowering before strongly-worded threats, and surrendering up real estate in those unimportant parts of the world outside and inside the US.

All with the aid and guidance of the UN.

Iraq report insulting - Talabani

http://www.news24.com/News24/World/Iraq/0,9294,2-10-1460_2042917,00.html

Baghdad - President Jalal Talabani, a long-time US ally, made a stinging attack on the controversial Iraq Study Group report on Sunday, calling it "dangerous" and insulting to Iraqi sovereignty.

"As a whole, I reject this report," he said.

"I think that the Baker-Hamilton report is not fair and not just, and it contains dangerous articles which undermine the sovereignty of Iraq and its consitution."

Iraq's national security adviser, al-Rubaie told, "If we don't act to contain al-Qaida, the violence will spread like hell, not only to Saudi Arabia and the GCC (Gulf Arab) countries but to Syria, Iran and beyond,"

Oh? Does he mean like the present, current, or the moment? What is this person attempting to tell me?

I am just amazed that anyone except the Israelis in the middle east even talks to the United States. I think the reason is the power it has. That should be proof that they do respect U.S. power. How many times in just the last 30 years did we break our promise to help people. Never mind the millions slaughtered after we cut and ran from Vietnam. In no way does that justify blowing up buildings or innocent people, that is simple murder, but the bitterness may explain part of the slow progress that will satisfy our fast-food style desires.

The terrorists saw a fat turkey, and are waiting for harvest. Remember, these are the clowns who believe that infadels - that would be us in the west - can be lied to at any time, our heads are forfeit if we do not accept Allah.

My recommendation - a full burst 180 degrees back at these clowns.

Gird up your loins boys! Or as Jim Carey says in "The Mask."

"We in Iraq would like you to exercise some strategic patience for this paradigm shift.."

Who is the idiot who called for the fast moving freight train?

Slow down and take a breath for God's sake.
