Will she be buried in D.C. or back in her native Oklahoma?

"Vietnam presumably taught us that the United States could not serve as the world’s policeman; it should also have taught us the dangers of trying to be the world’s midwife to democracy when the birth is scheduled to take place under conditions of guerrilla war." [3

appropriate comment for the current iraq scenario.

Be prepared for the petty, nasty, snide remarks from the Dems. Just a female John Bolton to their little minds. Which, IMO, is not an insult.

Voinovich and Chaffee betrayed their party and their president.

Not much new here. Can't wait to see what kind of wussy wonder we get for UN Ambassador now. I can almost guarantee it won't be someone that will amount to anything like the legacy that Bolton has in his short tenure.

As Jeanne Kirkpatrick said of the UN after accepting the Ambassador job, "They aren't going to kick us around anymore". Bolton has carried on that tradition.

What Democrat, has the balls see that we are not run over rough shod, run hard, and put up wet, and treated like the red headed step child in the general assembly of the Nations United against the United States of America.

High time we started using the United Nations for a platform to advance everything good about America and standing tall for the principles our country was founded upon. That will require an unusual statesman in a very important job.

Her excoriation of the "Blame America First" crowd was awesome, and is still appropriate today with respect to so many Dem politicians!

I believe she was talking about those who blame America first, clear back in the early seventies. Truly someone with a very clear idea of where the US would be headed without the "proper" leadership.

In my lifetime, there has only been three great woman that come to mind. Margaret Thatcher, Golda Meir, & Jeanne Kirkpatrick.

Interesting how much they share in common. They had ethics, morales, common sense and never put their self interest first. They were true Statesmen. It is a sad time when people do not have a clue of what a true and real Statesmen is even when they were in our midst.

A great woman .

She reminded me of the good lady who played the mother to Eizabeth Taylor in 'National Velvet' (1944).......Anne Revere

"Everyone should have a chance at a breathtaking piece of folly at least once in his life.”

****

God ........ how true.

RIP

I have always admired Ambassador Kirkpatrick and during a stormy period at the UN when she was being attacked by the idiot press, I sent her a letter telling her how much I appreciated the thankless job she was doing at the UN. In about 3-months I recieved a personal note from her thanking me for my support. The note is still in my collection and I am honored to have it.
