Hillary may have the buzz, but Rudy has the better poll numbers - at least for now. A new WNBC/Marist College survey yesterday found that while Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) is the most popular presidential option among Democrats, a whopping 47% of all voters say they would "definitely not" vote for the former First Lady if she runs for President in 2008. By contrast, a full two-thirds of voters say they remain open to voting for former Mayor Rudy Giuliani - who would best Clinton, 49% to 43%, if the 2008 race were held today. The numbers suggest that the Republican Giuliani - whose pre-9/11 record remains a blank to most voters - has room to grow, while Clinton begins with nearly half the electorate aligned against her, experts said.
"The bottom line is that there is very little room for error in a Hillary-for-President campaign," says Marist College pollster Lee Miringoff. Not that Giuliani is without challenges. The poll found that while Giuliani remains the top pick among GOP voters, a full 47% of those voters - when told that Giuliani is pro-choice, pro-gun control and pro-gay rights - say such issues could be a "major factor" in their eventual decision. Aides to Giuliani declined to comment on the numbers, but Clinton pollster Mark Penn argued that Clinton has consistently proven she can expand her base of supporters. "When she started in New York, many people said they'd never vote for her - and she just won reelection with 67% of the electorate," said Penn.

It's a major screw-up on your part. Consult the DNC for damage control.
First off on many of the issues I care about they are the same. Second there it is not a done deal she will win the rat nomination. Let me play Devil's Advocate for a minute. Suspose Rino Rudy wins and Hitlery loses to sayEdwards or Richardson. Yes they are liberals, but they can play the moserate on TV. What if the rats seem to the right of the republicans.
You are one of the worst debaters to ever hold an FR screnname. Most DU trolls have a sharper intellect than you.
"The republican can not win with out the south."
That's right. The south will vote for Hillary/sarcasm
LOL.
"Being the mayor of a city, anycity is the not the same as President."
Hold any office other than the Presidency and being President are not the same. I think thats obvious idiot.
First off maybe I missed something but Hiltery is not the rat nominee. Yes she is running, but she has competition and I think she will not win. Second since 1964 no rat has won the Whitehouse without winning at least 3 or 4 southern states. Dumping on southerners is not a good way to get their votes.
That is your only consistent message, Reagan Embarrassment. Way to make friends and influence people.
I've come to the conclusion we just can't talk any sense into these people. I'm about ready to just stop trying.
The same could be said of you. Why do you a professed conservative want to support a liberal? Particularly when there are conservatives to support and as you can see some will never vote for you rino. Enough I think to torpedo his chances no matter what. He is unelectable.
"Yes she is running, but she has competition and I think she will not win."
I think you are dead wrong about that. But even if she doesn't, I don't see any Republican other than Rudy or McCain winning in 2008.
"Dumping on southerners is not a good way to get their votes."
I'm not dumping on southerners. I am one. I'm from NC. And most Republicans here in NC I know love Rudy. Oh, by the way, so does Sean Hannity and he's no "liberal Rino". He's just a smart, pragmatic conservative that understands political realities.
Then maybe the rinos might wanted to move ot the right, my money is they might have won if they did. When a republican governs like a rat the people will go ahead and vote for the rat, cuts out the middleman.
Callin' folks idiots is not talking sense to them. Now I think you may be tanglin' with a newbie 'agent of change' whose agenda is the same as Reagan Embarrassment's. Republican division.
"Why do you a professed conservative want to support a liberal?"
Being conservative on foreign, ecomonic, and domestic policy and being liberal on social policy doesn't make you a liberal. It averages out to be moderately conservative. Also, its stupid to vote for the president on social issues since these are mostly state issues and the president has very little influence on this issues. You have to vote for the most electable candidate that you agree the most with on the issues that are the most important and the president has the power to affect in a significant way.
"Particularly when there are conservatives to support"
All of which will lose if nominated!
"Conservatism works everytime it is tried." - Rush Limbaugh
One hole in argument is that Rino Rudy is so far to the left he is also unelectable as a republican. Make a great rat though.
"I do not think either McPain or Rino Rudy can win the general election."
I think they would be a shoe in.
We will have to agree to disagree on that. My thoughts are that RIno Rudy is so far to the left he will turn off many on the right that the reps need to win. They will stay home or go third party. This is what happened in 1992. And McPain will have a Dean Scream moment he has a history of having a bad impulsive temper and the press will play up his age the same way they did Bob Dole's.
"We will have to agree to disagree on that."
That sounds good to me. We've been running around in circles for awhile now. I'm ready to move on amicably. There are some on here that won't do that.
