Or that he'll make it happen, from his weakened position. I confess to some disillusionment with this guy. I hope events prove me wrong.

The AP got busted last week for fabricating dozens of Iraq blood and guts reports. When the war with Israel was in the news, the MSM got caught making up pictures for the camera.
Bush sees Iraq the way it is, and not the way the MSM tries to make it look.
No one, and I mean not one American citizen, really knows what's happening in Iraq. The MSM has created the images for us, but that doesn't mean any of it is real.

Because it doesn't bear any resemblance to the truth....

Just as no one could define the specific conditions of victory in the Cold War, so it is impossible to specifically define the same now.

So, is it true that the war on terror will have no end?

"While I do agree that the entire population of Iraq is not worthy of the loss of one of our GI's, we are defending freedom and the American way of life there. Those are worth fighting and dying for."

Al Qaeda and Shia insurgents, radical Islam basically, has chosen to make a stand against the American military in Iraq. In 2 years, we have been unwilling or unable to defeat them decisively. If we actually leave now, our incursion into Iraq will have turned out to have been a great victory for Islamic terror, exactly the opposite result for which (I suppose) we went in there.

I hope with all my heart that Bush understands this and is willing to make Americans understand it. And get the job done.

The two men have different, but equally effective presentations of the facts about Iraq and the importance of it's role in the War on Terror.

Just because the President isn't as eloquent as Blair (who is?), don't think that he's not effective.

The problem is that the media won't let the American people SEE him. They are making decisions based on the ignorance and pessimism that come with believing the MSM.

Yes, and the commanders on the ground, the President and VP would not risk lives, while waiting around for a date to give up.

"..good young men die for a lost cause."

Good young men and women die fighting overseas for our security while their homeland is given to others during their absence.

Have to say that while listening on the radio yesterday to the dog and pony show by the ISG, there were some very tough questions by the media. Not all identified themselves but they were cutting.

Go bake some cookies.

If this is your tactic, no wonder you never succeed.

You not only don't have the fortitude to win, you didn't even have the balls to respond directly. The women have more courage and conviction that you do.

Go bake some cookies.

Perhaps it would be better if we got some paper towels so we can clean up all the pee running down your leg as you roll over and surrender.

Of course not. The Cold War ended. So will this one.
