He's nothing but a K Street suckup for the Saudis. What a collection of whores in Washington! Is Baker an actual registered foreign agent for Saudi Arabia?
Didn't he defend Saudi defendants against a civil suit by 9-11 victims?

Israel should start bombing Iran before we cut them loose.

Israel won't be fighting just Syria - they'll be fighting Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt, too. And they'll be hamstrung by idiots like their current PM.

Bush knew what kind of person baker was. Why did he want him on this committee then? Why would he put an antisemite and a man paid by the saudis like baker in such a position?

The Administration didn't float any trial balloon (lead balloon, actually) of higher Social Security taxes via lifting the income ceiling. Al Hubbard was on Kudlow last night and said that the Democrats may wish to bring that to the table and Bush will flatly reject it, as he will with the other rumor about bringing the top 35% rate back to 39.6%.

This like the 1938 Munich Conference to which the Czechs were NOT invited. The
diktat led to World War II. Shades Of 38' all over again. Baker to Israel: "Drop Dead!"

James Baker is a despicable piece of excrement, and I hope he is not long for this earth.

The Israelis would get what, exactly? Why should they agree?

We are just distancing ourselves from Israel so they can attack Iran, Syria and Lebanon on their own without us being tied into it. That's my take.

The plain said truth is that many American liberal Jews are very much anti-Israel.That doesn't _necessarily_ make them self-haters. When the Zionists took power in 1948 there were a lot of Jews around the world that didn't think the best solution was to cluster in the one place in the world that was going to be a stick in the eye every day to every arab in the region. The miracle may be that they've lasted this long.

What price is this administration willing to pay for peace in Iraq? Baker wants us to talk with syria and iran, jumpin' Jehoshaphat, that's insane. Both countries want to wipe Israel off the map.

[Madrid-2] has been supported by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Ok, let's hear from all the "Condi 2008" assclowns now. She is a disgusting Arab ass-kissing creep who was incompetant as NSA director and should have been fired on 9/12/2001.

Didn't he defend Saudi defendants against a civil suit by 9-11 victims?Yes, successfully.
Is Baker an actual registered foreign agent for Saudi Arabia?
I don't think so, but I believe that's only required when lobbying, as opposed to legal representation.

This would be a national disaster, a self-inflicted humiliation of the highest order for the United States. Basically, America throws in the towel, rewards those killing American troops and sells its only ally, Israel down the river. The American Moment in history would be gone forever and every one would know it. The Baker Study Group proposal amounts not to "peace in our time" but to a recipe to the next war.

I don't think this is about peace in Iraq, it's about getting out at minimal cost. If Baker can do a few favors for the Saudis, a palestinian state for example, so much the better.

As Baker sees this, the conference would provide a unique opportunity for the United States to strike a deal without Jewish pressure, Go ahead, James Baker-Al-Saud, make your "deal without the Jews". Then try to enforce it on a nation with 1,000 nuclear warheads and see how far you get. May God curse James Baker and see to it his demise is long and painful.
