brave, principled, truthful, independent, fierce against foes, a trusted friend, self reliant, honorable, dutiful, loyal, willing to make sacrifices for freedom and his fellows, unyielding in the cause of liberty

This describes nobody in Washington DC, certainly not in the leadership of the incoming Congress.

Good luck!

LOL. I'm pretty sure I will be local and have a truck in my front yard. Still trying to find out who the other family group is going to be. Oh let's take bets!

Someday, the war in in Iraq will be just a "blip" when compared to Islamofacism's overall war on the world.

O'Connor was acknowledging correctly that the MSM will be largely responsible for how this report is interpreted, and she inferred by her words, that the media was responsible for the present perceptions.

There is too much history to think O'Connor or any one the media will present this any other way they what the liberals want to happen

"There is too much history to think O'Connor or any one the media will present this any other way they what the liberals want to happen."

Exactly.

From the report: No one can guarantee that any course of action in Iraq at this point will stop sectarian warfare, growing violence, or a slide toward chaos.

Makes me think of "The Day the World Stood Still".

It is only destructive if President Bush DOES what they suggest in this report...

From what I have seen, he won't.

With respect, that isn't the case. The report is destructive simply by the very fact of its existence, by the fact of its being conceived at all.

As I pointed out in post #696 this political theater of the absurd isn't just being played out for us Americans, but also before the rest of the world. The message they will draw from it is that America is a hollow power in terminal decline, and they won't give a rat's behind what contorted rationalizations we indulge ourselves with in order to gain comfort or play our own internal partisan games.

On FNC

Richard Perle just stated that asking Syria and Iran to help with Iraq is akin to "asking the Soviet Union to 'help us with our problems' during the Cold War" Such a preposterous effort will make us a laughingstock.

He is so wise - why was Richard Perle not on this committee?

Answer: because he is a realist and not a loser.

" It's like the fight has been beaten out of him by the media and the Democrats. " Yes it does. I can only hope he's doing what a certain boxer made famous quite a few years ago. If he is, I hope it works. If he isn't, well; "events may overtake".

Not only to inform the people but to interpret the report for the people.

I despised the woman before, now I am convinced we were beyond blessed to have her retire.

Imagine suggesting a representative of the UN be part of the solution. Imagine the EU being part of the solution.

Do you think these people were playing around with LSD while they were thinking up this idiotic plan.

Best part is that President Bush asked them to autograph the report. As tho they were a circus act...........

I agree and have been saying so for a while now. It makes me sadder than I can possibly convey in words.

We as Americans seem to have a genetic predisposition to procrastinate in the face of mortal danger at the cost more unnecessart bloodshed.

If I had a nickel for every person who has said this to me...most of them military and veterans of Iraq.

Ditto - Agreed.

No more Bring It On or Wanted Dead or Alive or appearances at the WTC rubble with the bullhorn.

He's even apologized for that!!!!

Have you also noticed we don't see the 'Bots running around with their "Super W" anim anymore?
