We grew up with a golden named Nanny would carry ANYthing.

I think Goldens and Labs are almost identical except for the shedding part. We got a Lab thinking that because their hair is shorter they wouldn't shed all that much.

I'm still paying for my not doing research on that one! I've never seen a dog shed like a Lab does.

We have a full blooded black lab (female, almost 5 y.o.) and a chocolate lab mix (male 6 y.o.). The female sheds like crazy! The male, not so much. That's still 185 pounds of dog to clean up after :P

I am SO thankful for my Dyson vacuum!

You are so right about labs shedding....we had a pitbull for 17 years and he never shed...after he died, we got a black-lab doberman mix......she's wonderful dog....we love her, but her fur is everywhere.....I have to vaccum everyday....
