SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- A city ordinance in Sioux City, Iowa, says all pets must be on a leash -- but it doesn't say who has to be carrying the leash.
One Iowa dog, Jack, has been walking himself since he was a puppy.
The 11-year-old Labrador retriever holds his own leash in his mouth as he walks with his owner, Brad Ralph.
"So far, we haven't been cited," Ralph said. "I don't know how that would hold up in court, but he is technically on a leash."
Jack and Brad walk about three miles each day.
"I don't really do it to get attention you know," said Jack's owner, Brad Ralph. "It's just handy and he's a little bit of a show off and likes to prance around with his leash in his mouth."
Jack takes his responsibility very seriously. He doesn't like it when someone tries to take his leash away from him.
My husband tells her: you carry your end, and I'll carry mine, and she grabs the leash about a foot from where it's fastened to her harness. It's so darned cute!
Well thank you. ;-)
I wasn't invited to this party, but here's Jack:
Jack and I were buddies... Unfortunately his "mommy" and I broke up, so I don't get to see him anymore. :-( I should sue for visitation... Jack's 65 pounds of personality (and bone, muscle, and skin).

They are cute...
He is adorable, reminds me of my Pug
Check with HairOfTheDog. I'm sure she'll point you in the right direction.
Beware The Eyes That Paralyze!
"midnight black shepard with brown paws"
This is what they call a "bi-color" GS. Would be rather unusual, I think, for a Czech-line dog to be anything other than sable.
Wish I could give more advice on Czechs or any Euros generally, but I'd suggest you do a Google search on dog sites relating to European German Shepherds (and please, spelling it right will get you more hits!). I once went to a great pedigree site with a decent forum, which would've been fantastic for contacts and info, but they have shut down.
Actually, you might want to surf around here...(Siriusdogs.com)

I used this site several years ago, but it has changed in set-up. Maybe you can figure it out. Look through the ads and maybe you can run upon a contact who deals alot with Czech-line dogs.
Or eating something, their dog house, the garage, an ivory chess set, an Old Smokie BBQ Pit, the air conditioning wiring ... ;-0
Great looking dogs!!!!!!
By any chance is your dog's name Barbara?
Unfortunately I don't know a thing about Czech shepherds. Sorry
Cute story! Thanks for the ping HOTD.
My first dog, a cocker spaniel peekinese mix used to carry his own leash. Got quite a few laughs as we walked. R.I.P. Buster
Lol, that one is just carrying a tongue in it's mouth.
She's making her rounds keeping crazy liberals off the mountain
OK, I'll take your word for it!!
