Should Sen. Hillary Clinton be elected to the presidency in 2008, she won't use her married name of Clinton, but rather, her maiden name of Rodham.
That according to Dick Morris, a former adviser to President Bill Clinton who is now a political columnist.
"She would not be another President Clinton. She would be President Rodham. I'll bet you that if she wins, that's what she has people call her," Morris told Fox News host John Gibson today on "The Big Story."
"I'll bet anybody in the country that when she gets elected, that's what she's gonna want to be called. She won't say it before, but she will."

That would not be wise. She'd be better off getting something simple like her name settled before ballot time.

Well, since "Rodham" rhymes with "rotten" it would be appropriate. Pray she doesn't succeed.

That was my first thought. Market research, you know. I believe she was generally known as Hillary Rodham in 1992, but changed it when her hubby ran for president, because that's what the polls said to do.
I predict that she'll be called all sorts of names should she ever get elected to the WH.
And Barack Obama wants to be Vice President "Hussein".

She's obviously sensitive to the charge that she's ridden on the back of her husband to get where she is, so the "Rodham" thing is her way of psychologically affirming to herself that she is her own distinct person, not simply Bill Clinton's (reputed) spouse. The truth is, if she had never married Bill, no one would have ever heard of Hillary Rodham. She'd be some anonymous attorney for the ACLU or some other special interest group.
