FROM THE SENATE Hearing on Robert Gates
The Senate Armed Services Cmte. holds an open hearing on the nom- ination of Robert Gates to replace Donald Rumsfeld as Sec. of De- fense. CIA director from 1991-93 under Presidents Bush & Clinton, Gates is currently President of Texas A&M University. Senators are expected to call for a new Iraq strategy during the hearing.

I feel the same way....
I doubt I will be listening much...when Levin said all of the things he has already agreed to...
I think this "hearing" will be a vehicle for the Senators to speechify...especially the ones running for POTUS in 2008.

I was very glad to hear him add that part about the POTUS ultimately makes the decision...because the way Warner is steering this hearing....that is NOT the way he sees it.
