As Hillary Clinton begins her own preparations to run for the presidency, the deciding factor of who will be the next commander in chief may have less to do with whomever is chosen as the Democrat or Republican nominee, and more to do with the choice of the Constitution Party.
This weekend at a national committee meeting in Manchester, N.H., Howard Phillips and the Constitution Party he founded set in motion the plans to launch its own third party candidate for president.
"The time has never been better for a third party dark horse candidate to grab the White House," Phillips told WND.
He affirmed that by next July, his party intends to nominate a presidential candidate, with possibilities for the ticket including Minuteman Project co-founder Jim Gilchrist, former Republican presidential candidate Alan Keyes, Baptist pastor Chuck Baldwin, and author and WND columnist Jerome Corsi.
The Constitution Party is also strongly supportive of Republican Congressmen Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul, but there is no decision yet that either would leave their home in the Republican Party to pursue a Constitution Party nomination. Tancredo has said numerous times he is considering a run for the presidency.
"The American public are angry at both the Democratic and Republican Party," Phillips said. "If neither major party wants to listen to the American middle class, the Constitution Party is ready to enter center stage and get back to the basics that have made the republic established by our founding fathers work for over 230 years."
The meeting was highlighted by a lineup of well-known conservative speakers, including those who may end up running.

It could have been all in one reply or post, which would have made it more convenient btw, but be that as it may, what's the difference?
Perhaps you won't. But I can foresee circumstances where the Constitution Party (or some other conservative third party) could get into the single digits.
To be fair to you and your previous statement Some third parties do have the chance to become spoilers., whenever you see a screen name that implies they hope another screen name is 'happy' about the results of latest election, consider that this was how they thought was the best way to "affect" the outcome and persuede some of those third party voters that "do have the chance to become spoilers":

I hear you, I can't even imagine anyone mentioning his name for 2008 since he did so poorly in Illinois.
After listening to H&C tonight Romney just became my front runner for the GOP.. reason being the Dems are worried about him and already trying to discredit him... Sean finally caught on and said outright, you people are afraid of Romney aren't you??? This is what we need to watch for, the candidate that scares the Hillary camp as much as she scares us, he appears to be that candidate.

That's right. We need to encourage everyone (who has not already done so) to read every Clinton book they can lay their hands on.. including some of Bill Gertz's books on that period of history.
All that will do is draw off the GOP, won't touch the Dems.

WASHINGTON -- Gov. Mitt Romney expressed support yesterday for an immigration program that places large numbers of illegal residents on the path toward citizenship, but criticized any form of "amnesty."
Speaking to reporters after a speech on education reform, Romney also invited outgoing White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card, a Holbrook native, to challenge Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., in midterm elections this fall.
Romney's comments came as the Senate began heated debate on immigration reform. On Monday, the Judiciary Committee approved a controversial bill sponsored by Kennedy and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., that would make 11 million illegal immigrants eligible for citizenship.
"I don't believe in amnesty," Romney said, using a word voiced by Republicans to describe widespread forgiveness of illegal residency in the United States.
But at the same time, Romney said illegal immigrants should have a chance to obtain citizenship.
"I don't believe in rounding up 11 million people and forcing them at gunpoint from our country," Romney said. "With these 11 million people, let's have them registered, know who they are. Those who've been arrested or convicted of crimes shouldn't be here; those that are here paying taxes and not taking government benefits should begin a process towards application for citizenship, as they would from their home country."
The McCain-Kennedy bill would legalize the 11 million immigrants if they demonstrate they've paid taxes, can speak English, pass a civics test, pay $2,000 in fees and aren't criminals.
Massachusetts saw its illegal immigrant population increase from an estimated 55,000 people in 1990 to 200,000 people in 2004, according to a recent report by the Pew Hispanic Center

I was going through my old books the other day and I was stunned at the PILE I have of books about Clinton! I mean there must be 40 of them.
I think I shall keep them for reference.
How nice that we can all stand by our principles and not allow someone who is conservative, but more centrist conservative to be elected therefore allowing the Clinton's to be re-elected to another two terms and finish ruining this nation forever.
Unfortunately, I would be willing to make you a bet that by 2008 Amnesty will be a done deal and ergo a moot point (and it's not something I'm at all happy about).

I will support whoever our nominee is... your intuition on Clinton was right on, too bad the whole country didn't see it at the time.
