Hey folks. I'm not going to demean Lincoln, but being from the deep south, he is less than my favorite.
FWIW- Lincoln only freed the slaves for the states in rebellion. He did not emancipate any slaves still in the Union. He was however opposed to slavery for his entire career.

I dislike him because he trashed the Constitution to go to war against the South, but that is a debate for another era.

Interesting. Many accuse Bush of trashing the Constitution to defend the US against terrorists. Now I understand why Newt often compares G W Bush and Lincoln.
