We disagree on that. It was a total pandering to the black vote. Apparently they are immune to pandering from Republican.

We REALLY should be worried about Evan Bayh...
If he gains major support, he WILL carry the day..."
Honestly, I could live with that. As long as it's NOT HILLARY.

"Rightwing non-voters brilliant political strategy of "sending a message"."
I'm sorry you don't approve of the democratic process our founding fathers put in place. If you don't like the way our process works, you could always try another country.
It is the duty of Americans to vote. Sometimes it is their duty not to or to go with the other guy. In my election, my R choice was Trent Lott and I took it. That doesn't stop people from beating the absoloute crap out of him on FR. Now I wonder why I even bothered.
A republican has no more "right" to my vote than anyone. I don't care if an R does follow their name, they do a crappy job, I'm not voting for them. I may not vote for the Dem either but I cannot in good faith vote for a crappy candidate. Tryng to bully or shame people into doing so is disgusting, IMO.
And guess what? By far, most people have no "political strategy". They vote their hearts, minds and pocketbooks.

That looks like what we call a "Flathead". {Delicious!} Unlike other catfish, they prefer live prey.
Please don't slander such a noble creature.

GOP brilliant political strategy of "big government" appropriately rewarded.
Got THAT?
To: Little Ray
LOL, well, it seems to me that the so called moderates, indies and swingers. ie leftwing, are smarter voters than we on the right.
Since they turned out and we on the right did not have enough to save very, very, very good Conservative men and women.
And we surrendered Iraq to OBL, the UN's Bolton, taxes, the VERY important courts to the ACLU and the WOT tools of interrogation, surveillance and imprisonment.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
All for illegals and earmark spending?
Hardly worth it since we irrationally removed the very firewall of Conservatives that blocked the liberal tendencies of the President and some GOP members who's constituencies are more liberal.
Dumb, super dumb.

I can't imagine he would. Really.

Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas will run. I like him.

The pressure would be on him to do so from the party higher ups. Bill and Hillary are the Democrat Party.

I really think there is not much chance for Allen.
If he can't even beat Webb in his home state, that's pretty bad.
The only thing that might prompt me to change my mind is if a huge scandal erupts over Webb stuffing the ballot boxes, and it becomes apparent that Webb really did not win the election.

Ask the Congress GOP hiding under their desks when the Washington Post comes out in the morning.

Would not Bayh's winning the nomination diffuse the CLinton's influence?
To: L98Fiero
LOL, cut the drama it does not work with me.
American's can vote their "hearts", emotions, to punish, and send a message, to kingdom come. Or not vote while waiting for a robotic knight in shining armor who is perfect in every way, and they will get what they vote for.
Wake me when they start using their brains.
To: KantianBurke
Not me, I correctly voted to keep the furthest Right running in power, to quell any big spenders.
THAT was not the plan for others, obviously, since we now have literal commies in Chairmanships.
Thanks!
To: roses of sharon
Sorry. I don't see any evidence that the conservatives didn't turn out. There just aren't enough of 'em to win the battle by themselves.
El President did many stupid things including his stance on immigration, spending, and (IMHO) fighting the war. Congressional leadership supported him, loudly. The "moderates" and "undecideds" missed the fact that it was el Presidente and idiots like Frist who were the problems, not the rank and file and 'Pubbies (not that they got much help in that area from the MSM). So they voted for real Democrats, not "acting-like-Democrats" Republicans.
I was not the conservatives fault. We faced a historical trend and that, combined with the the 'Pubbie leadership's tendency to shoot themselves in the collective feet, cost the election.
