AFAIK, there were no camps for Germans or Italians in America. The number of Americans with Italian and German would have been so large, that the half nation should have been imprisoned then.

Yes, the Italian- and definitely the German-descended population was huge. However, some families of either German and Italian immigrants or even naturalized citizens, were deported to overseas internment camps. What happened to the Japanese-descendees was much more extensive.

Germans and Italians were rounded up and put in camps on a select basis. The largest one was Crystal City, Texas. Some were also held in NYC.

Actually, there were camps for Germans. In the Southeast U.S.
Somehow, nobody ever raised hell about this.

Oh yes there was. #7 is correct.
Many US Citizens of German ancestry or Legal Resident Aliens were in fact interned for 'the duration'. Not as many as with the Japanese, but camps there were.

I've read that there were camps for Germans in America similar to the Japanese internment camps, however they were located in the Midwest, were spread out in several states and had at most approximately 10,000 internees. These are not the German POW camps that were also stateside in the Midwest and the South. Anyone else know of the existence of these facilities?
