Why the he!! do they have to bring their liberal voting crap with them? Are they sooooooo stupid they don't realize what they are fleeing is a direct result of their liberal votes in the first place?

Webb doesn’t have to know much of anything but how to collect his pay - he’s a democrat.

Yeah, I live "here" ~ in Fairfax county in fact.

The Klan faction in Virginia is always impressed with the latest or most familiar fascist face with a US Marine Corps officer's background to run for office.

We've seen this happen entirely too many times for comfort.

Harry Byrd pretty well suppresed them, but they and their children continue to harbor their grievances against the rest of us and will vote for a Robb or a Webb every single time.

Unfortunately there are still enough of them to swing an election.

That they are a pug-ugly ignorant bunch of slugs is not to be denied, but that's who they are.

Our guy lost the election the second he said anything negative about the Confederate flag.

Webb already had the Moslem vote, if they voted, but he didn't quite have the Klan vote until the Jewish issue was raised.

Blacks will vote anti-Jewish as well in Virginia.

But did you know Webb is soft on pedophilia?

The Klan doesn't care about pedophiles ~ they wouldn't have any members if they did doncha know.

The non-Northern Virginia vote made a shift to Webb beyond all understanding unless you accept the fact that Southside and the West have more than their fair share of Kukluxers and fascists who'll turn out to vote for any Democrat who meets their standards ~ which Webb does.

Webb is a dangerous man.

No, you were supporting her: Bless you, Celeste Zappala. Your son fought and died for your right to protest a failed Secretary of Defense receiving an award. You are in my prayers. You might as well have been cheering on Jane Fonda. In fact, you did with your vote for Jim Webb.

I cannot believe you have the gall to say that to LP. You have changed quite a bit warlord - and not for the better. I saw you were in Iraq. So what? Many have gone before you and many will follow - and they had and will have a real purpose there - not simply chest thumping and projecting the GOP party line that has gotten so many of our young men and women killed. I too want to win this war but am willing to say we made mistakes and have to correct them - and soon.

Does Webb remind anyone else of the "great" former Republian Joe Wilson? Both seem like egomaniacal "tough guys" who think anyone who disagrees with them is evil.

I anticipate a lot of trouble from him.

And I, for one, are looking forward to this hot-head looking for a place to explode. The liberals in Northern Virginia deserve no less.

Do you promise not to rant again until then?

Nope. I'll point out ignorance anytime I see it.

I just figger it'll take that long for it to sink in with you.

Patent disrespect for the presidency should be the default position for everyone outside of the military and the executive branch.

"In a republic, people decline to be led by leaders who are insufferably full of themselves."

So funny. I take it Will isn't making some subtle point about the death of the republic? To invoke the republic is to mourn it.

"'Damn Yankees" and "Yankees go home," come to mind." :)

Couldn't wait to refight the Civil War or "The Late Unpleasantness", or the War for Southron Independence, or whatever you call it down there I see. Unfortunately the North lost that particular war although it took several decades for us to realize it (as a nice Southern lady in a Chesapeake barbershop eloquently told me a few years back). I don't believe you guys (the CSA) are going anywhere anytime soon so we all have to deal with what is. What is is a duplicitous Southerner who got himself elected because another Southerner badly botched his campaign in the midst of a lot of other Southerners and Northerners who did the same damned thing. The question is, how do we all deal with the most recent late unpleasantness without killing each other in the process? A couple of things that immediately come to mind are being true to conservative principals. The other is to never believe that we should hope for or can gain from the possible defection of any of these so called blue dog rats to the Republican cause. Anyone who doubts who Jim Webb is should read his recent book "Born Fighting". The book makes it clear what his mindset springs from and it ain't love of anything but himself. Check it out at a liberry so he doesn't get enriched in the process. I'm sure you typed tongue in cheek, so have a nice day.

Webb wants to punch him out[!] Incredible. His act is not going to last long in Washington, it would seem.

Never underestimate how much corruption and sheer idiocy the electorate will tolerate... After all, how many terms has Jim "Moron" Moran or Fortnoy "Pete" Stark served? And how did Alcee Hastings get into office in the first place?

I came back to this thread hoping you would clarify whatever point you were trying to make and edify me as to why, iyo, I am "out of [my] gord." Your post makes no sense whatsoever in context.

It's very easy to sit anonymously behind a keyboard and insult people. It's done way too much on this site. And, more often than not, the insults are hurled by those who haven't read the line of posts. It'd be nice if you gave that a try if it's not too great an intellectual strain.
