Preview and Analysis of the Weekend Talk Shows for December 2 and 3, 2006

Having triumphed with a landslide win (hey, a 1 seat margin in the Senate and the smallest historical change in the House in a sixth year of a presidency is a mandate if they say it's a mandate!) the Democrats and DBM are now in full gloat mode.  They are trumpeting their plans to "fix" the country and undo all of the rotten things that the Republicans did since McChimpy Reagan defeated Holy Jimmy the C.  now the masks are off and they can finally reveal what they really want to do and who they really are.  And they control the agenda!  Remember that.  Be afraid.  Be very afraid.

The DBM claims to be the first draft of history and they are determined to set their version of not only this election but the last 30 years into stone.  Reagan was an aberration and his era is over and the Republican wresting control away from the Dhimmicrats was a terrible tragedy for America and the world at large.  Oh, and Jimmy Carter (notice those initials?) was one of our holiest of presidents, despite what you think you've learned over the last 30 years.  Chief on their agenda is to surrender in Iraq and, in fact, the entire Muslim world and to paint George W. Bush as the worst president in history.  After all, he failed to kow tow to them.  All else is immaterial.

NBC Meet The Press offers up one of three appearances by Stephen Hadley, no doubt to explain exactly what he meant by that leaked memo.  You don't suppose the White House felt it necessary to do something that outrageous in order to get one of their people onto the Sunday talk shows?  They then give us Warner and Levin to explain why Bush was wrong for not listening to the wise men in the Senate all this time.  Finally they provide Jimmy Carter one of  two NBC appearances this weekend.  Let the rehabilitation of this foreign policy genius begin!

CBS Face The Nation also presents Hadley and will no doubt be hard on him over the leaked memo.  Their other guests, Hagel and Lieberman, present the perfect picture of the screwed up world we live in.  The "conservative Republican" is the slimo and Al Gore's 2000 running mate is the good guy, from my point of view.  What's wrong with this picture?

Fox News Sunday gives us Plugs Biden, Goober Graham and Kelo Breyer.  Oh the humanity!  Their prime concern?  What James Baker and the old guard foreign policy wonks of the Iraq Survey Group will tell the President he has to do to "fix things" that he's broken in Iraq.  Let's see, we have a group of people who opposed the Iraq war and, in fact, the war on terror from day one.  What do you think they're going to advise the President to do, get tough?  This is the surrender chorus in full bleat and it ain't pretty.  And to top it off no Britt Hume this week.  I guess the combination of Paul Gigot and Charles Krauthammer will make up for that lack.

ABC This Week completes Hadley's triple play this weekend and I'm sure George Steponallofus will be in full dudgeon over how he trashed the Iraqi leadership... wait....  Then we have a pair of Dhimmicrat presidential contenders, one they think is serious, one they think is a joke.  You get to figure out which is whic.  After several years of Bush bashing and leftist adulation as a "good conservative" George Will's column on Jim Webb's lack of civility drew an immediate and typically insane series of attacks from the moonbat left.  It appears that the BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) crowd has found their boy and won't stand for anyone dissing him, especially not for spewing their own hate filled diatribes in the President's face. (see here, here and here for examples or do a Google news search on "George Will")

CNN Late Edition focuses on the aftermath of what they see as the inevitable American defeat and surrender to the Jihadis.  They don't want us to count on the Syrians and the Iranians.  No, they want us to count on the Saudis.  Brilliant!  They offer up the only other decent Republican other than Joe Lieberman (oh, isn't that sad) in Arizona's Jon Kyl.  Perhaps we have a nucleus of real conservative Republicans to build around.  They also give us Diane Feinstein and (ugh) John F'n Kerry.  Oh how the mighty have fallen.  It used to be that he could command time on NBC or ABC, but no more.  What a pitiful sight.

The Saturday shows are more than predictable, with Russert doing a twofer on Jimmy the C, Fred and Mort picking up on what an asshat Webb is and how stupid Rick Warren is (with the inevitable conclusion that Warren is right) followed by the hagiography of the Iraq Study Group for their infinite wisdom.  Truly sad.  Fox News Watch provides the usual apologia for the deficiencies of the news media while JER provides the sliver of useful information in this days newstalk.  Ah well, someday they'll all learn, or else they'll end up as also rans in the great scheme of things.

So, the die is cast, the dinosaur DBM has shown their true colors and they are thinking that they're going to get away with it.  They are wallowing in their illusion of ultimate victory, totally ignoring what actually happened on election day.  Even the most charitable interpretation of the election results shows an evenly divided electorate, yet they are operating as if the vast sea of peasants they think they represent has risen up and is ready to overthrow "the man" who has been keeping them down, totally ignorant of the fact the the DBM is "the man" to the vast majority of Americans.  Oh, are they in for a let down!

This will be cross posted to my blog at Wizards.townhall.com. This post exists primarily as a heads up for who is on the weekend talks shows, what they've been invited on to push (based on their recent pronouncements) and the spin (meme) the DBM is likely trying to push based on that information. All of this is prep work for the weekly Sunday Morning Talk Show thread posted by Alas Babylon!. That thread provides a live commentary and analysis of the Sunday talking head shows, with rare insight and exceptional fact checking. we are the Jedi Council of FreeRepublic, at least in regards to these DBM gabfests. You wanna know what was said and what it meant, as well as where they messed up? Read that thread!  Better yet, contribute to it!

Here is a link to Mark Kilmer's excellent preview over at Redstate.COM posted earlier today.  OK, so he beat me.  Hey, he hasn't had anyone cutting on his eye in the last 10 days! <g>

An excerpt from my usual witty commentary:

The best that can be said about this latest transplant operation is that it hasn't fallen out yet.  However, I have a feeling that this is proceeding exactly according to plan, but the last one was three years ago, so my mind has successfully edited out all of the bad stuff.

On the medical front, the pressure has come back up in my right eye so we're no longer thinking I might lose that right now.  I even got a new contact lens for the other eye on Friday and that gives me great distance vision, thought he reading vision is really for the birds, but that can be solved with drug store "cheaters," so I'm really encouraged. As always, all prayers are much appreciated.  However, I have to say that, as things go, my problems are pretty minor, so I encourage all to say their prayers for those in real need.  I always feel sorry for myself with my problems, till I see some of the folks who my doctor is helping who are far worse off than I am, and that doesn't begin to deal with the folks who are out there putting their lives on the line for the rest of us, so I feel blessed, no matter my situation.

No need to apologize for the large font. My eyes felt rested reading it.

For those who want to reduce it, click on "view" in the tool bar, find "text size" and make your choice.

Here is a book we might want to know about:

"Communication Professor Examines Media Bias in President's Speeches
Virginia Tech News ^ | 11/30/06 | Jean Elliott

BLACKSBURG, VA., November 30, 2006 -- Jim A. Kuypers, assistant professor of communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech, reveals a disturbing world of media bias in his new book Bush's War: Media Bias and Justifications for War in a Terrorist Age (Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, Inc. 2006).

Convincingly and without resorting to partisan politics, Kuypers strongly illustrates in eight chapters “how the press failed America in its coverage on the War on Terror.” In each comparison, Kuypers “detected massive bias on the part of the press.” In fact, Kuypers calls the mainstream news media an “anti-democratic institution” in the conclusion.

I always go off of last weeks post.  It appears that the admin moderators moved it to blogs last week in their infinite wisdom.  I decided to just go with it this week and worry about it later.

Hello everybody and I hope you have a good day tomorrow. Congratulations to the winners and a silent prayer for rodgoy911 who is over worked and under loved.

I will be gone tomorrow but anticipate the good fight to go on.

One comment, however. I strikes me as strange, and yet typical when Democrats are involved, that the Baker report has so many leaks. One could logically assume the Democrats are getting previews on what's in it. This is not new. In the past, with numerous issues, the Democrats and old media seem to know more about reports and commissions than the general public.

I could be tactful about what's happening but I won't. In my opinion the media and Democrats are leaking these things so they can design the playing field before the actual information is released and people start talking about them. This includes pre-release hits against Bush and Republicans as well as staking out positions based on the upcoming reports.

The evidence will be IF Biden, and others, seem to have insight or information that one would logically realize is not out yet. These guys want people to believe they are clairvoyant and insightful. In reality, they cheat and are lying to the public.

Mark Kilmer has posted his preview on RedState.COM

Posted at 1:14pm on Dec. 2, 2006

The Sunday Morning Talk Shows - preview

By Mark Kilmer

For Sunday, November 5, 2006

Meet the Press (NBC): Host Tim Russert talks to National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, author of the Maliki Memo leaked to the New York Times. Then he chats with Carl Levin and John Warner, trading places on the Senate Armed Services Committee.

He also talks to Jimmy Carter, but that's immaterial.

FOX News Sunday (FNS): Host Chris Wallace talks to... well, it must be Christmas early this year. Wallace will interview Joe Biden and Lindsey Graham, John McCain's proxy on the send lots and lots more troops now! line. Then Wallace speaks with Mr. Justice Stephen Breyer while we watch grass grow and paint dry.. (Justice Breyer is pragmatic and progressive, yep.)

Face the Nation (CBS): Host Bob Schieffer talks to Hadley then to Chuck Hagel and Joe Lieberman. On the war, Lieberman is pragmatic, while Hagel's position is that of those who style themselves progressive. Hagel's the registered Republican, and he reminds us that he is conservative on other matters. Lieberman, of course, is lefty on other matters.

This Week (ABC): Host George Stephanopoulos talks to himself, among others. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will discuss Iraq with Steph, as will the exciting and excitable yet unflappable charisma-bot Evan Bayh of Indiana.

Late Edition (CNN): Host Wolf Blitzer talks to Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad, Saudi Ambassador/HIghness Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Senator Jon Kyl, and the rehabbing but not apologizing Senator John Kerry. And his usual cast of thousands.
-----

It looks like another fun morning, and I'll have the report for you right here. Posted in Comments (0)/ Email this page » / Read More »

Hey, I didn't get a FReepmail so I was worried, "Where's Phsstpok?"

Ha! Here you are! LOL!! Look at the date of your thread... tomorrow is December 3rd. The admin will change it for you if you ask!

Anyway, I think I'm going to go to Washington DC and lead a protest against all the Sunday Show studios about the never ceasing presence of:

Joe Biden

Chuck Hagel

Lindsey Graham

Carl Levin

John Warner

Joe Lieberman

John F'n Kerry

There are 100 senators in the United States. Not counting a couple who aren't on this week (John McCain and Chuck Schumer), why, oh why, can't we hear from ALL the rest, 91 more of them, in alphabetical order, before ANY of these nine get on again for even a minute?

Is that TOO much to ask? Geesh!!!!!!

It's not part of the plan, Alas. They need people who will carry out their memes. It's not about getting the facts or the truth or informing the public...but we all know that.

Jeff Sessions was with the President in Riga. I would have loved to have heard from him, but there is no chance of that.

Oh, and if one person talks about that rising democrat star, Osamabama, I'm turning them off. This "Hillary! might not run if the "rock star" Osamabama gets in is the most media contrived story I think I've seen.

will you please change the title of my thread to reflect the correct dates of December 2nd and 3rd?

Sorry, I'm dealing with post surgery issues and am not 100% (or at least that's the excuse that I'm using this week)

Thanks
