"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
Do you have a good example of the pricing drives out competition and allows for higher prices - from the last 10 years?
Indeed. In addition to our CHARMING fathead of a governor and inept, bumbling legislators, PA is practically OWNED by the pharmas.
Look at the democrap, black governed cities - they are, by and large, cesspools of maleficence, corruption and misery - yet the corrupt and stinking governors are reelected time and time again.
Freaking fools!
If only they could understand.
I buy my meds by mail order and the cost is still pretty high
And these same quacks constantly complain and gripe about the prices of drugs, insisting the government do something. Wal-Mart lowers prices and the same wackos go idiotic on us. Typical Demo-rat hypocrisy!
Read post #10. This is the truth. A lot of the major drug chains support democrats. I would see the lists where the chains compare prices. Some really jack up the prices. Thats why they try to project the image of trust, Mom, apple pie...I get mine mail order on a 3 month basis from Anthem. It is cheaper, but not as cheap as Walmart.
Should probably post them in the states not affected as well, so people don't get tempted to vote Democrat in the next election. There's a big emigration of socialists from the states they've trashed to the previously unviolated states.
You're post got me to thinking. While this tactic may be technically illegal, Dems hate Walmart, and maybe the furor is BECAUSE it's Walmart, and had it been Walgreens or someone less hated, no one would have objected to the violation.
OOPS! You're = Your. Typing too fast foul.
There's lots of stuff in this world priced below cost on a regular basis, they're called loss leaders, and they're that way to make money. Ask any grocery store manager about the margin on bread and milk, they'll tell you that thanks to the high rate of spoilage they lose money on both, but people rarely come in to buy just milk or bread and those other things they buy are how stores make money on them. Preventing pricing below cost is outlawing a normal and healthy business practice.
But the Sherman Act only applies to monopolies. It doesn't disallow below cost selling across the board, only below cost selling to maintain or expand a monopoly.
In the words of Abe Simpson, "I'm old. Gimme Gimme Gimme!"
I am in Illinois and the program just went into effect, and I've got a Walmart half a mile from my house.
Between spouse and me, we've got 4 "forever" scrips for drungs on Walmart's list. Our CO-PAY on each of these is $15 for a month's supply vs. $4 FULL PRICE each at Walmart.
That's going to put an extra $500+ a year in my wallet ... I may have to up my FR monthly.

It's all a bit of a red herring since these are generics we're talking about. Sure, I pay more than four dollars for generics elsewhere, but usually less than ten, and no more than 15. It's the hot, trendy name brand drugs that cost 100-200-300 a month that are bankrupting people.
Now that is very true. A lot of these are the same thing with slight changes put out as "new" . The ads (which we all could do without) sell these drug miracles to the masses. However, some of them are good, but I believe people are just over prescribed!
