Give Tommy credit, he saw the problem and help bring it forward. But then he changed and the solution was all about him. No compromise Tommy became a folk hero to some, no amnesty for illegals! People bought into that, sounds wonderful but it doesn`t get anything done. Even the Constitution is a compromise for goodness sake. But Tommy didn`t want that, he needs an issue, something to keep the true believers hot and the checks coming.
In the end, we are going to end up with a bill the Rats write and it will do nothing positive except increase the size of the federal government. Thanks Rep. Tancredo

Tancredo changed nothing. His position has been the same from the get go, effectively secure the borders and enforce our immigration laws. You're just pissed off because his position conflicts with Bush's and for the good of this country, he refuses to back down, it's what the majority of Americans want, just not what YOU want. You clearly have appreciated the determination in Bush, but hate 'Tommy' for it.

The 3/5ths compromise? The wake of that compromise was more war deaths than every other war combined in American history; millions held in slavery; festering civic wounds in American cities; the abolition of federalism; and, quite possibly, the extinction of the American state to the exploitative grievance industries known as MSM news and socialism.
