After wrapping up the NATO summit in Riga, Latvia, President Bush traveled to Amman, Jordan for a two day conference to discuss the sectarian violence in Iraq.
A scheduled meeting there with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki was postponed until tomorrow after yet another internal White House memo was leaked to (and published by) the New York Times. The memo reportedly questions al-Malikis ability to control the violence in his country.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice traveled from the NATO summit to the West Bank city of Ramallah for talks to help preserve the cease fire between Israelis and Palestinians.
Enjoy your day visit to Sanity Island
I "think" I have 28.
We are way behind the others. :)
I made normally buttercream icing but added some coconut and then sprinkled Cadbury's Timeout wafer biscuit over the top before adding the Smarties and almonds.

That's a *real* Dose of Sanity Island ... enjoy every second, sweet O! Hugs.
Is Michael Adams the one who wrote about conservatives giving more money than liberals?
Amen! We have a station here that is doing Christmas carols 24/7, so that's what is on in the car. On the TV I have been getting recipes off the Food Channel and watching the Pope's trip to Turkey on EWTN. The commentary is very interesting, lots of history about the Church, the Greek Orthodox, Turkey, and Greece. About 1000% better than the commentary we get on the news channels. And NO politics!
Just saw, Oliver!..........and I feel much better! Not beaten down. (although I do miss seeing the President on these trips......I just don't want the commentary).
But then I use my resources to do some battling here on FR.
LOVE the first photo! . . . Our playful, fun-loving president brings out the best in all around him -- notice how all the heads of state want to be near him (and have such a GREAT time when they succeed)?!
MUST READ . . .
THE ANCHORESS says it best:
". . . Were the the current president sporting a D after his name, were he anyone besides the hated Bush, would we be dealing with Chris Matthews nightly bug-eyed, spittle-laced pronouncements about firings on Fort Sumter?
Bush has done his job too well. It bears repeating: we have not been attacked since 9/11 - even though AlQaeda used to regularly bust on us. He took the war to the terrorists own nest and is trying hard to keep his promise to America - that he would protect her people from harm - and to Iraq, that he would help them to live in freedom, not under the jackboot of a tyrant, not prey to the opportunists who would bear down upon them to replace Saddam.
Hes done his job so well that after attack, hurricane, flood and more, unemployment is 4.4% (sorry if Clinton got praise for 5.6%, then Bush gets the credit for 4.4
) and against all the dire predictions the economy is growing and all the terrible doomsaying doesnt seem to be emptying the stores or restaurants. Hes done his job so well that we feel safe enough to criticize, which is a good thing. But hes also done his job so well that the idea of war is something obscure to us - we think we can sit around in comfy chairs and settle everything."

It's been a day . . . I'm going to take a 30 minute shower and then relax in bed with a good book and the 2001 Christmas in Washington special (featuring our beloved First Couple) playing the the background!
Night all!
It's my pleasure. Come on in and rest a spell :)
(((Star))) --- I'll try my best to check back later. If not, I will see you here on Monday! I hate to see them leave... I am spending every waking hour with them.
Take care, everybody!
Oh, we have a trampoline in the yard -- huge thing -- all netted in to make it secure -- 14 feet diameter -- lotsa fun. I sure hope I am burning serious calories jumping on it. :)
Did you like it? I've not seen it.
Thanks and Good Night, Deb!
hiya kiddo....still obsessing over the toasters...lol.....Jon volunteered for a mission to Safwaan....I'll post you a couple of picks with him and the locals...
Are those Smarties on your pumpkin cake? :)
Oh gosh .. have a blast .. I wanna go ... LOL.
Ugh...some people are really obnoxious. I put talk radio on probation for three weeks. I started listening to Mark Levin again yesterday but it's going off again the second I hear anything that sounds like "It's all Bush's fault!"
THAT would be wonderful. I wish you were here.
Gotta go --- see you Monday for sure!
My sweet ((Star))
That's a great picture :)
