What do you think? If three Americans are kidnapped in Iraq, we generally hear about it. Have you heard, next to Iraq, Mexico is now the most dangerous place on earth for journalists. 7 of them murdered this year down there.
One more reason why J-school students shouldn't be allowed to ply their craft: they don't understand geography.
"40 miles northwest of Nuevo Laredo" would NOT be "across the border from Laredo".
For those confused by the article, the dateline (Piedras Negras, Mexico) is across the river from Eagle Pass (not Laredo).
You would think that, given the journalistic imperative of "getting it right", they could at least get that right.
Still can't figure out why anyone would want to go into the hornets nest called Mexico.
Instead, we seem to get a policy run by ...

This overkill "kidnapping" makes me wonder if there's drug money involved. Just another day in corrupt Mexico.
Reading stories like this should make Americans cringe in fear to know that if GWBush's plan of "merging" America with Mexico and Canada succeeds, this is what we'll have in our back yards.
The talking heads are talking about the "North American Union" now, and some wonder WHY this "North American Union" doesn't even require the consent of our Senate or House. WE, the taxpaying citizens of America, don't even get a vote on it!!
I think we're living under a GWB & Co. dictatorship.
Has to be a drug deal.
