"Isn't he dead yet? What's taking so long?"

Waiting for Castro. The man is ever so polite when it comes to commie dictators: "You first". Castro needs to go first.

I know Carter because he did away with the USAF Veterinary Service because our organization caught the US Army Veterinary Service taking bribes from Defense Contractors. Now we have Army Veterinarians on USAF bases and because of the service divisions, the veterinary service to the USAF is more inefficient than before the change up. Carter's decision was finally finished in 1982 and the USAF veterinarians had to go to the Army, go to the BSC, or get out. The USAF was in control of the Working Dog program at Lackland, biomedical research at Randolph, Ft. Sam Houston, and White Sands which is now controlled by the Army. What a cluster sexual act.

Jimmy Carter should not be drinking cans of his brother's beer at this late date.

If the United States wasn't in force in Iraq and Afghanistan, they'd have to be involved in the Middle East on some more unfavorable terms and conditions than they are now. That's just the reality of the situation there.

Sure, it would be nice if all Americans could be home for Christmas and murderous terrorists would just be nice and behave themselves -- but unfortunately, it's not going to happen anytime soon and so the presence in Iraq and Afghanistan prevents the volatile situation gaining momentum out of control -- as the best of the choices we have to make.

The Democrat/liberals seem to have convinced the media that the choice is between a perfect world of their wildest fantasies (including that Jimmy Carter is president and everything goes right) and the present course which is quite remarkable considering that the world isn't perfect.

Thanks! I would love to know what the President was really thinking right then. It looks like you could be right.

The gas lines, how could I forget? Our teachers had some of the students who were old enough to drive, sitting in the gas lines for them.

Minuscule compared to the US not declaring war on the mullahs when they took over the US embassy in Tehran in 1979. This is when the Islamists were empowered thanks to Jimmy the Wimp.

If we pull out of Iraq, the next battle (and there will be one) will be even more costly to America.

How did you glean from my statement that I am in favor of conventional war tactics in fighting an insurgency? I am specifically referring to the facts that a) W. shifted primary responsibility for Iraq from the defense dept. to the state dept. (even though state somehow never gets the blame when things go wrong); and b) W. said again and again and again that Syria and Iran would suffer severe consequences if they continued to send terrorists over the border, but never delivered even under the doctrine of hot pursuit.

Rummy was HARDLY a supporter of Conventional War tactics, in Iraq or elsewhere -- quite the opposite.

Before 9/11 there were two countries that posed severe threats to us through Islamo-fascist terrorism. George Bush eliminated one of them by deposing Saddam Hussein. If give enough time, he would surely have delivered wmds to terrorists who would have used them against us. Iran is the other major I-F threat. They bankroll just about all the current I-F terrorist operations going. If the world civilized community had any guts, Iran could be taken care of too just about totally eliminating the threat of I-F terrorism for the near future. But at least one major threat is done with. With Saddam about to meet his end and his two murdering thug sons already dead, Iraq at least has a chance at a civilized, non-terrorist future.
