I drive a taxi here in NYC and blind people are my favorite passengers. When they give me a $20 dollar bill I tell them it is a $1 bill! Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

I drove a cab in college and the very often the blind would hand me a larger bill than they had intended.
I was Always honest with them but I am sure some cabbies were not as honest as I.

Simple. Each bill comes with a wafer-thin audio chip that announces what kind of denomination it is ("I'm a 20...I'm a 5...I'm a 10-spot."). As the legal requirements get more ridiculous, so will the solutions. ...would not have worked for Helen Keller....

Of course, the result of having your money strictly on the basis of precious metals means that the money supply can only expand as more metals are discovered, mined, refined and minted. The effect is deflationary as products chase a limited amount of money, people who have money don't spend it (because they'll get more from a desperate seller tomorrow) and counterfeiting becomes more attractive. That's all very true, but your premise seems to be that deflation is a bad thing. Why do you think so?

Umm... No it doesn't.Suit yourself. Supernotes (fake $100's) are generally produced on bleached or altered $1, $5, or $10 bill stock. With the Euro notes, they have to start from scratch, making it less profitable. I really like Austrailian bills. Some sort of impregnated and chem treated mylar. Tough and durable, but you can not make bowties and roses with them ;)

Typical liberal idiot who never set foot in the real world. Every blind person I knew could tell our current bills apart by touch alone. Still, braille on the bills is a good idea.
You don't s'pose that crooks would use that to take advantage of the sight impaired do you?
Naaaaaah!!!
Do it yourself braille punches would be an instant hit on Ebay.
Also, if the bills feel REALLY cold they probably came from a Dem congresscritters freezer ie BIG bills.

Nominated by William J. Clinton on March 22, 1994...There ya go. Typical liberal idiot.

How about we have special stores for the blind? Every cash register can have a laser photo bill reader that would sound out the denomination of the bill before they pay?
Leave it up to the states to determine how many blind stores they need.
Problem solved. Next question?

What about price stickers? Do they need to be in Braille too?
