I have been very disappointed with Rice at State. Maybe she should leave too.
Zelikow was among the first people Rice hired after she took over as secretary of state in 2005. She also brought in other fellow academics
Those "academics" may be a big part of the problem.
Professors are generally not doers by their very nature. As disasterous example, we have Madame Albright.
There was a time when I was hoping she might ascend to the Presidency. Boy was I ever wrong.
I hope she returns to academia soon and takes that ridiculous "two state solution" crap with her.
The state department has too much "cold war intrusion". That is to say, too much sympathy for the NON-american forces.
The state department sees perpetual chaos and negotiation as job security. They were upset when reagan ended the cold war because it meant their cushy nuke talk jobs were eliminated.
Now they hate it when GWBush goes outside the state department. The state department entrenched leftism is not threatened by Rice. She is an irrelevant suit to them. They will just tough it out until third way hitlary gets into the WH so they can ratchet some more to the left.
