Did you read my post? We were discussing the lack of credibility of the article before post 200 and most of the comments prior to that were in response to donna's posts.

In scanning through, there were just a handful of posts 'cheering them on.' You seem to be determined to find fault where none exists. Is there a reason for that?

On my local ABC network channel news, they just reported the disclaimer by the State Dept. that the twins were asked to leave .. and showed tape of them with friends, laughing and watching the soccer game ... LOL.

The Bush daughters did not get asked to leave. They are not misbehaving. What don't you get?

No I never saw it. You see I begin reading threads article first then in numerical order usually. What happened was I saw a few and where they were headed {the cheer leading for staying} and responded. I was quite mad but not because of praise for the Bush twins. I could care less about such stuff. I posted in anger because adults who should know better were cheering what looked like an irresponsible act on.

Then I did a quick check at my pings a minute or two later and saw the recent reply so I checked it intending to go back and catch up afterward. I stopped reading the thread at that point except for current post as the info had been updated.

Wow, many dads would love this deal!! Of course, their twenty-five year old daughters wouldn't, which is why there's no change in hell that Dubya's vetoing his adult daughters' boyfriends. However, the prospect of having to meet your girlfriend's father, the President, is probably enough to scare off many boys.

Perhaps the defense is based on the fact that there was nothing to be criticizing them for.

There is nothing quite so effective as false accusations to rile the protective instinct of decent people.

Then again, it might be that people are so sick of those on this forum who have been so unbelieveably ruthless and cruel in their attacks on the President in the past weeks that attacking his daughters was just too much.

In all seriousness. And I truly am interested. Is the defense of the girls related to the attacks on the President or do they occupy a place in pop culture that I wasn't aware of?

I have right near me papers that I have been grading throughout the day, and a final that I have been preparing to give next week.

As with most intelligent people, I am capable of multi-tasking, and responding to folks like you requires very little mental energy.
