Rep. Deborah Pryce is keeping her seat in Ohio 15th Congressional District. The Franklin County Board of Elections said she won by 1,054 votes over challenger Mary Jo Kilroy.
The narrow margin of victory means that there will be a recount.

You know, I can't blame the Pennsylvania losses on gerrymandering. PA-10 is a safe Republican district with an incumbent who allegedly strangled his mistress. PA-07, PA-4, and PA-08 were all drawn as balanced districts that didn't lose any "safe" Republican territory to others and the mapmakers thought we'd hold them with strong incumbents. Well, Greenwood retired, Holden imploded, and Hart found she was no match for a partisan wave.
Pennsylvania's suburban drift to the Democrats, and concentration of Republicans in the T, means there's not much the legislature could have done to keep the delegation with a Republican supermajority. And we'll take back PA-10 in 2008, restoring a 10-9 Democrat advantage which is not unreasonable.
they drew pa-13 in hopes of stealing it. they had no shot at all at landing it and should have realized this. they should have stuffed all the dem votes they could into that district.
Re-electing the likes of the gutless wonders like Trent Lott was not a good sign. The Republicans are a Minority Party, in numbers and in mind. They are too frightened to lead, and too sensitive that the liberals and MSM will call them names.
The wife and I held our noses and voted absentee for Pryce.

i am well aware. alot of freepers arent looking at this realistically. if anything i think we are going to lose more seats in '08 in both the senate and house.

But PA-13 always was pretty full of Democrats. Their plan, which I'm sure you're familiar with, was to have a Philly Democrat win the primary and lose to a MontCo Republican. But that part of MontCo and NE Philly have become so reliably Democrat in federal elections that the plan never had a chance. There's no pool of Republican voters there that could have helped out elsewhere. If they'd given more precincts in Philly to PA-08, those precincts would have supported Patrick Murphy, as Fitzpatrick's strongest card was his service as Bucks County commissioner. The parts of MontCo and Philly already in his district were as Republican as they get.
Pennsylvania has seen the biggest change in voting habits since redistricting of any state I can think of, bar New Hampshire, where it doesn't really matter. Georgia is the only other state that compares, with huge numbers of Gore-voting rural white voters shifting to Republicans. They did the best they could with the maps but you can't hold against a paradigm shift. Remember, PA-06 was supposed to be a solid Republican district when drawn and it was considered the most likely to fall this year. Only Gerlach's campaign skills saved it.
It's two years, and we shall see, especially with nancy running things.

Trent Lott is a gutless wonder. He never had the nerve to lead. He was always trying to "make nice" instead of laying down the law. Can't stand the idea of twisting an arm or two, cutting funding to those RINOs that sell them out vote after vote, etc. He isn't a leader and never has been.
Maybe J.D. Hayworth can find a job at a Mexican radio station, quoting soccer scores.

Look, I have to admit I was on the dump Lott bandwagon, but he made a comeback, and I repsect him for that.
