Paradise lost

It was only a matter of time. Depraved Palestinians first sent young adult men wearing explosives to blow themselves up on Israeli buses and in pizza parlors.

Then came the phenomenon of young women doing the same. Now a grandmother has chosen this fiendish way of death. Fatma Omar An-Najar was a mother of nine and grandmother of more than 30. Her suicide in the Gaza Strip lightly injured three Israeli soldiers, so she failed to take "infidels" with her. But that is of little comfort. The use of a grandmother means more horror is coming.

With teenagers as young as 16 already blowing themselves up, children are next in line to become "martyrs."

Terror masterminds are brainwashing a new generation in Muslim countries. Everything from animated cartoons to educational programs to textbooks urge young people to kill and die for Islam. Clerics preach that the fastest way to get to Paradise is Shahada, or to die for Allah. Those who do are called shahids and children as young as 8 are drinking this murderous Kool-Aid.

Newspapers, television, the Internet and even music videos routinely extol the virtues of a violent death. A show on Palestinian TV involving two 11-year-old girls offers a chilling example. According to a transcript and video clip provided by an Israeli-based group called Palestinian Media Watch, the show, which first aired in 2002, features an interviewer talking with the bright, normal-looking girls.

Interviewer: You described Shahada as something beautiful. Do you think it is beautiful?

Walla: Shahada is a very beautiful thing. Everyone yearns for Shahada. What could be better than going to Paradise?

Interviewer: What is better, peace and full rights for the Palestinian people or Shahada?

Walla: Shahada. I will achieve my rights after becoming a shahid. We won't stay children forever.

Interviewer: Okay, Yussra, would you agree with that?

Yussra: Of course. It is a good [sweet] thing. We don't want this world, we want the afterlife. We benefit not from this life but from the afterlife ....

Interviewer: Do you actually love death?

Yussra: Death is not Shahada.

Interviewer: No, I mean the absence after death, the physical absence, do you love death?

Yussra: No child loves death. The children of Palestine adopted the concept that this is Shahada. They believe that Shahada is very good. Every Palestinian child, say someone aged 12, says, O Lord, I would like to become a shahid.

The spread of the culture of suicide - "martyrdom" to adherents - is the most disturbing trend in the Muslim world. Starting with Hezbollah in Lebanon in the early 1980s, it has been adopted as a legitimate weapon by both Sunnis and Shiites in numerous nations, especially Iraq.

Itamar Marcus, director of Palestinian Media Watch, recently gave a lecture at Manhattan College to document how a celebration of suicide bombers has taken root among Palestinians in everyday life. He told of how one soccer league for 14-year-olds named its teams after suicide bombers. Wafa Idris, the first female suicide bomber, became a heroine to many Palestinians after she blew herself up and killed an 81-year-old Israeli man and wounded 100 others four years ago.

Marcus, citing a textbook for eighth-graders that says "your enemies seek life and you seek death," called this sewer of propaganda "an impediment to peace."

That's an understatement. For years, conservative Israeli politicians were criticized when they claimed that "we don't have a partner for peace." When grandmothers strap explosives to themselves, and when children are taught to follow, the world must finally understand what they, and we, are up against.

The Grandma bombing and the others mean nothing. Only when middle aged men with some power do that will it signify a change. The reason I say that is that men with power are those that matter. Women and young men certainly don't.

Toddlers might be a nice touch with cellular detonators.

Men dressed in burkahs(thats already been done)

If the Israelies surrender more land they could get a circus cannon and fire human cannonballs with bomb-belts and all.

Their elevators do not reach the top floor.

We will end up having to fight them on American soil, the deMARXocrats will make sure of that.

Absence of Responsibility

Are the Palestinian leaders aware of what they’re doing to their cause and to their people! Are they happy with this crippling siege, the starvation, the mass killings and the loss of hope for the majority of the Palestinians?

Should we laugh or cry as we watch the drama of selecting a prime minister and forming a new government unfold in Palestine? What mind can apprehend this state of polarization and infighting that precedes forming a financially bankrupt, politically impotent and internationally besieged government? The Palestinians need to confront themselves and review their political conduct. The easiest and laziest way is to blame it on the dead end that Palestine cause has reached with Israel, the United States, and the Arab regimes. A nation that cannot stand united under the Israeli violence and barbarism can never be united through consultations over forming a government and discussions and mediations with the Arab capitals. Even the wild animals that roam in jungles unite when confronting a common enemy. How can human beings participate in such infighting and waste their time on fruitless discussions, struggling to establish a government that does not possess the decision, money, or even the political will at a time when Palestinians are being murdered in cold blood, deprived of the bare necessities and their livelihood.

With the advent of the Fatah Movement came the internal administration of an authority that was comprised of the dregs of the Palestinian cadres who had graduated from the offices of Damascus, Beirut, Amman, and Baghdad. Setting up a corrupt authority, it ended up costing the Palestinians their reputation, the price of which was losing international trust. Next came Hamas proclaiming to be the savior and the alternative government whose configuration is the strangest that history has known; a government that has occupied territories that it refuses to negotiate over with the occupier in hopes of a peaceful withdrawal, and yet simultaneously it is absolutely incapable of expelling the occupier by force. There is no ideal circumstance in which the occupier and transgressor can be satisfied inasmuch as a Palestinian government that does not try to negotiate or ask for anything, or even exercise political maneuvering, rather it is a government that practices a nihilist, ambiguous, and dualistic policy where its leaders say one thing in Tehran while its other leaders refute it in Cairo.

This impoverished state in which the Palestinian citizen is engulfed under siege, starving and a witness to mass murders is poignant and moving. If the Palestinian leaders have a vestige of a sense of responsibility towards their people they would admit to their mistakes and perhaps even apologize to them and tender a collective resignation after having excelled in the failure to address their issues, and having pushed matters to become a calamity that is the worst Palestinian history has ever witnessed.

"The spread of the culture of suicide - "martyrdom" to adherents - is the most disturbing trend in the Muslim world."

Disturbing trend? Islam has taught this since the very beginning. This is no "trend" it's the regular, everyday teachings of Mohammad. When will media smarten up and read the Koran and hadith?

Bukhari:V4B52N53 “The Prophet said, ‘Nobody who dies and finds Paradise would wish to come back to this life even if he were given the whole world and whatever is in it, except the martyr who, on seeing the superiority of martyrdom, would like to come back to get killed again in Allah’s Cause.’”

Tabari VIII:153 Ishaq:533 “Abdallah Rawahah encouraged the men, saying, ‘By Allah, what you loathe is the very thing you came out to seek—martyrdom. We are not fighting the enemy with number, strength, or multitude, but we are fighting them with this religion with which Allah has honored us. So come on! Both prospects are fine: victory or martyrdom.’”

Qur’an:4:74 “Let those who fight in the Cause of Allah sell the life of this world for the hereafter. To him who fights in the Cause of Allah, whether he is slain or gets victory—soon shall We give him a great reward.”

Muslim:C29B20N4635 “The Prophet said: ‘Nobody who enters Paradise wants return even if he were offered everything on the surface of the earth except the martyr who will desire to return and be killed ten times for the sake of the great honor that has been bestowed upon him.’”

I'm so sick of media suggesting that Islam is some sort of "peaceful religion" that is being hijacked by extremists. It's a cult of death, a blood cult that promotes murder and death.

" Muslims are all hate mongering fruit cakes.
Nonsense! and you know (or should) better."

For as long as I remember someone has been telling me that all southern white (men) secretly hate black people, or that republicans secretly hate the poor, or some similar broad brushed slander.

Being a little bit of both, I know that this is not true.

However, while I think most muslims would rather just get on with their lives, it is in no way a stretch to believe that at a level quite near the surface all muslims, including those who are my friends and associates, hate that which is not muslim.

The difference is that islam is an all inclusive theology / ideology / social & political doctrine, and it promises perfection only in the absence of "others". It is self fulfilling because muslim states provide nothing for the common man but a religion based promise of future perfection if that common man follows their rules.
(Salvation or 'paradise' in an afterlife is the standard means of making today's misery acceptable, but only one religion that I know of has offered a violent shortcut, at least since the middle ages.)

I'm quite willing to deal with muslims on the same basis as any other individuals I meet in the USA. But I'll never slip up and believe that they consider me an equal or that they would not be perfectly content to see me gone and a believer take my place.

(PS: I have to extend some of that constraint to Christians from the same area - I've heard from too many about Israel and Jews in general to believe otherwise.)

Far from being voluntary suicides, many are actually hostage events where someone in the family of the bomber has been taken hostage and the bomber is blackmailed into committing suicide to secure the release of the family member or members being held hostage. Some accounts have the hostage setting as high as 80% of all suicide bombings.

Good morning.

I believe the Israelis have stopped at least one small child who had been sent, unknowing, to be a bomb.

How is this a problem for us?

Once the enemy makes their civilians into weapons, we have no compunctions about killing them all. It's the American way.

the article and everything written just proves that all islam is a death cult....their only ocntribution to the
world is death and destruction!!!!!

The five pillars of Islam..... murder, bestiality, terrorism, cowardice and abuse of women and children.

Know islam, no peace; No islam, know peace!

If the Arabs put down their guns, there would be no more violence. If the Israelis put down their guns, there would be no more Israel.

The Pope was correct in his quote...."Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
