Remember, Kennedy or Johnson were never credited for the Viet Nam mess.

Only Nixon was at fault

Be fair.  They also blame Nixon's dishonest Secretary of War, Robert McNamara.

What was that you said?  He wasn't Nixon's, he was SecDef under both Kennedy and Johnson?  I think you'd be hard pressed to know that according to the public school and DBM version of history... except, of course, when they want to deflect blame from Saints JFK and LBJ.  Let's talk about the civil rights legislation that Kennedy and Johnson got through despite the dastardly filibuster by those racist Republicans... what was that?  Again?

I read yesterday that the CIA do NOT like Jane Harman...think of her as a "prima donna"...and would rather have Hastings...blech

Maybe she will be smart and split the difference and go with Ciro Rodgriguez from Texas..

Wow a 226 catfish, now there's a kitty for ya.

We went to the Dry Tortuga's Friday, pretty rough, our skiff got air borne numerous times. We caught some grouper, mutton snapper, kingfish, yellowtail and released a 100 lb. nurse shark and a 200 lb. bull shark that had three cobia following him up to the boat. Quite an adventure. Photos later when I get them.

What a disgrace that the voters threw out 25 individually good conservative seats in the House. BTW, I thought we vote for or against individual candidates and not for or against party. Why do you defend that practice of voting against party when the individuals who lost were good conservatives?

Guilt by association: the good lost alongside the bad because the party as a whole has lost its Conservative bearings, and its leadership has let the MSM/DNC drive the media agenda for years now.

Are you actually defending the practice of voting against a party's candidate even when that candidate is a good conservative?

How guilty-by-association are the 25 new Democrat congressmen who are associated with the party of treason?

The media has been criticising Rummey weekly for years.

I know that the circumstances are not identical; but I can't help visualizing Don Rumsfeld as the current version of Admiral Kimmel etc. after Peal Harbor. Somebody has to absorb the abuse attendant with being the first to have to realistically deal with a grave situation after decades of national denial. I will be eternally grateful to President Bush, Rumsfeld etc. for having the courage to act. In time, and I feel Rumsfeld knows this, the nature of his departure will be lost in the realization that he was the first one out there on the windy corner.

Obama might make hillary's VP but with only two years,he can't look for more than that.

The rats do leave the black voter base wide open to us many times, but for some reason we can never capitalize.

For instance my guess is that nancy will leave alcee swinging in the wind and will not nominate him for intel chair.

There is no down side from the rats point of view.

They only need the black vote for one day out of every two years and they make that plain and crystal clear over and over again. It's up to us to capitalize on that.

IMHO the Libtard Congress Critters will spend more time settling old scores like their last name was Soporano than they will forging this "new America" they envision.

I agree with this. Not that I would necessarily welcome it, but Powell is a much better candidate in terms of national appeal than Obama. Condoleezza is also more compelling than Barak in terms of accomplishment. I am speaking here only in pragmatic terms as they apply to crossing over into the opposition's territory with the best possibility of overall success.

Perhaps, but I don't think so. Rumsfeld will be remembered for his remaking of the military into the finest fighting force in history. The coordination of services, the speed of our victories in Afghanistan and Iraq were unbelievable. Even compared to Gulf I, we out performed ourselves. Rumsfeld, and by extension President Bush, transformed the entire military to what will be needed to fight future wars.

(Notice, we don't hear about the Israeli military being the best anymore?)

I guess I missed my target. I feel exactly as you do. History has been kind to Admiral Kimmel, General Short etc. and has recognized the tremendous difficulty associated with being first into the breach.

I am very late arriving on the thread today, and I decided that with this wisdom I had to jump in to concur. It does not do us any good if we are trashing the President and Republicans and each other instead of forcing the issue to show the Rats for what they are, and dump them in two years. They will be out there in all their nakedness with their Communist/Socialist thinking. They cannot help themselves, they will be out there 24/7 with their vitriolic hate speech against Our Men and Women in Uniform, Christians, Catholics, Israel, Pro-lifers, and anyone they perceive to be in the way of their Cut and Run Agenda. The DBM will have their hands full covering up the diatribes spewing from the mouths of the Radical left that is the leadership of the Democrat Party, or else risk it scaring the Semi Conscious Voting public into running like hell from the RATS. The DBM has already gone totally in the tank for the Rats, they are skating on thin Ice now, but they figure that they can cover up a lot of crap that the Rats throw down in the next two years, if they do not the Republicans will be right back in the Majority again, and this time for longer than 10 years. The Public is slowing learning what happened, and how the DBM lied to them.
