Thailand: Hundreds of schools to close after killings ("Islamic Militants Suspected")

The decision will affect all 334 schools, ranging from elementary to high schools, in Pattani, one of three violence-torn southern provinces bordering Malaysia, the official said.

"We have to close all schools in Pattani indefinitely because no one can guarantee teachers' safety," said Boonsom Thongsriplai, the chairman of the Teachers Federation of Pattani (TFP). The closure will be effective as of Monday.

The closure was in response to the killings of two Buddhist school teachers in Pattani this week.

Non Chaisuwan, a 48-year-old school director, was gunned down Friday inside his parked car by militants, who then set fire to the bullet-riddled vehicle.

You know, the ancient Romans had an expression when they subjugated yet another tribe or kingdom, they said they "brought them to peace". Islam would like to "bring us to peace", then there's Mel Brook's Hitler performance where Hitler sings "All I want is peace, a piece of France, a piece of Holland, etc."

I guess one man's peace is another man's pieces. (sorry, I don't know why I'm beating this to death, I can't stop myself!!!!!)

Considering the fact that the driveby media and much of the voting public apparently hasn't gotten to the point of understanding this concept at all, I don't think that you're anywhere close to overdoing anything. You'd be overdoing it if we were to get an understanding from CNN and MSNBC and CBS and the NYT that they had even a glimmering of an understanding of this, but I haven't seen it yet and I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen.. Some people are just dead-set upon living out their lives in stupidity, and nothing is going to change that. Unfortunately, many of these people have access to TV transmitters, which complicates matters exponentially.

It's accurate when you consider that the key words in my statement are 'sign' and 'eventually'. Of course, I'm not saying that Thailand is in 'imminent' danger of being lost to Islam, only that IF Islam's onslaught isn't stopped, it can happen in Thailand just as it can happen in any country where Islam gains a significant foothold and isn't stopped.

Please don't be eager to accuse me of saying that Thailand is at this moment close to being lost to Islam....this isn't what I said or implied.

Any example of encroaching, violent Islam is a 'sign' of an 'eventual' takeover if nothing is done about it.....Hopefully Thailand will take bake it's schools and it won't come to pass.
