It would be a refreshing change.
I certainly hope so but Bush appears to be quite apathetic on the issue.
Well if there is anybody that can disprove the link it would be Senator Levin. (sarcasm)
Sen Devito rides to the rescue.
Letter to President Clinton, signed by:
-- Democratic Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others, Oct. 9, 1998
It's a shame.
IOW...maybe Bush should ask for investigations into why the DEMS called for military action in 1998??? LOL
Will not happen.
Reagan knew how to handle this. Ronnie frequently spoke from the Oval Office during prime time.
Ummm.....wasn't there a big explosion 2 weeks ago near Baghdad of some bio weapons that were unmarked....that made MANY people sick - reported here by someone whose relative was over there?.....what the ef does it take to make Levin, the commie, wake up?
Hi, Sleuth! Good to hear from you.
To follow, why did X42 make "regime change" in Iraq the government's priority? Or was that a "Lewinsky Law/Act"?
Also, why is it not noted more that the "second debate" and "second vote" were requested by the Democrats (who then had the Senate by way of Jeffords' defection), right before the 2002 midterm election, and when that presumably tactical move not only didn't get them the House, it lost them the Senate, ALL OF A SUDDEN the thought of war was the worse thing in the world?
...crickets....
I have heard a lot of Republican strategists..and they say that the GOP left in Congress should and WILL distance even further from Bush and the war.
I don't think they have any spines...and the ONE GOP Senator that dared to echo Bush's message about the war and the enemy, Rick Santorum, LOST the election..the rest won't want to make THAT mistake...pffffft
The ABC networks balk at giving Bush primetime airtime...
Reagan never had as hard of a time as Bush has with the media.
Reagan was a movie star...and even if the dems and left were against him...he got the camera time.
Something "W" has failed to make use of.
Now, after the 6 year 'War On Bush' the media has been waging, his credibility has suffered, and I fear a good share of folks will just switch to one of the other 99 channels that weren't so available back in the 80's
I wonder where Hillary stands on Levin's trying to discredit the 911 Commission?
I know the dems forget that it was Daschle that was Majority leader during that time...
Considering that Pres. Clinton was the POTUS that got legislation passed wanting regime change in Iraq, because of WMDs...and a majority of the dems voted FOR going into Iraq under Pres. Bush..
I just think it is so ridiculous for them to now want "do-overs"...and point the finger at BUSH saying he lied!
If the GOP had any backbone at all...the would demand that any investigation into PRE-WAR intelligence would, be necessity have to include the Clinton years at least up to, and including the Regime Change legislation.
That would require that Clinton go on trial for HIS intelligence and motive just as much as President Bush.
Then, I want that letter that was posted, signed by LEVIN, asking for military action to take place THEN in Iraq, to be placed into evidence..and have Levin placed under oath.
Ask him what HE knew back then to demand Clinton bomb Iraq.
Exactly, Sleuth. And the focus from the GOP, if they had the rocks to do it, has to be pre 2001, before GW was anywhere near the White House (to refute the "Bush Lied" mantra).
Awesome idea but they are political cowards, yet tougher on our enemies, sorta the opposite of Democrats.
