I think so too. He's a brilliant man.
There's a lot of Newt haters here at FR though. When I've mentioned him I get a LOT of flames thrown at me from people who HATE him.
Really odd.

That's because for some FReepers there is never going to be anyone good enough for them. People need to stop looking for the perfect candidate. Because that person does not exist.
They need to just start checking out all the candidates and go with the one who they agree with the most on all the issues and who they believe is the best person for the job.
There is never going to be someone who you agree with 100%.

The other day someone made a comment that he didn't have enough charisma; personally the man is so brilliant and has such a twinkle in his eye when he takes on the lefties like Alan Colmes, that I find him very charismatic.. his mind fascinates me.

Freepers seem to trash anyone who isn't their candidate. The must not be aware of how this hurts us all.
I'd rather see substantive debate on the issues.
Personally, I think Newt is the best speaking and brightest conservative in a long time. Should he run, he will have my backing.

Not so odd. People who worshiped him because of his great mind, brilliant leadership and sound conservative principles were crushed when they found his feet were made of clay.

All he had to do was hold the line on spending when he was in charge, and he'd have my respect and support.

Me too. If I were president, Newt would be my Karl Rove.
