Cook Brussels sprouts in a large pot of boiling salted water until just tender, 8 to 10 minutes.
Drain in a colander and toss with butter and salt and pepper to taste.
Makes 8 servings.
Never tried butter with sprouts but then apart from potato I tend not to put anything with veg just boil in plain water not even add salt because my father has heart trouble.
At first I found the veg tatsteless but soon got to like it and now prefer it or even better most veg (not sprouts though) I prefer raw.

I love those things....I made them this am. in advance....but I roast them in a 400 degree oven tossed with olive oil salt and cracked pepper.....and I made my stuffing this am., then I then stole some and folded it into my omlett....yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
