LOL! Tancredo whose 3 biggest supporters(Hayworth, Graf, Hostettler) lost, or Gilchrist a quasi-marxist, or nancy pelosi's newest bestest friend, Lou Dobbs.

Ah dane, there you go again. Mocking legitimate conservatives who have demonstrated more conservatism exists in their fingernail than in your entire body.
Any of these choices would be better than the Pseudocrats whose names have been floated to date.

I am beginning to conclude that the GOP has taken a walk on conservatives; I'm leaning toward the Consitution Party. I will throw my vote away before I vote for McCain or Rudy.

One would think that the recent election would have set back the liberals (aka neolibearls, neocons, globalists, et al.) in the GOP. It was a referendum on Iraq, not immigration, and by far more pro-amnesty Republicans lost seats than did anti-amnesty Republicans. If it was a referendum on Iraq then what makes anyone think that immigration is THE issue for 2008? (groan). I foresee many years op Democrat majorities while conservatives gnaw on their tails.

A few of Tancredo's biggest supporters like John Hostettler, Mike Sodrel and J.D. Hayworth are gone. Tancredo picked up support from Michele Bachman- MN's 6th, Geoff Davis - KY's 4th, Ron Lewis - Kentucky's 2nd, John Doolittle - CA's 4th and my new Congressman, Doug Lamborn of Colorado's 5th House District. We also won bigtime on ballot inititives in Arizona and Colorado.
Btw, three of Tancredo's biggest supporters are Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin. Not to mention at least three out of four Freepers too boot.
To: Reagan Man
LOL! Three out of four people on FR are Tancredo supporters for president?
Are you smoking the same stuff as Mr. Calhoun?

>>>>The GOP is in serious trouble. All conservatives I know are furious that the pro-amnesty Mel Martinez will be the new RNC Chair. A GOP county chair recently said to me, "If the GOP continues to move to the Left, conservatives will have no choice but to vote third party in 2008." Well said.
To: Reagan Man
Well said. Yeah welll said from a guy who thinks nancy pelosi's newest friend, lou dobbs, should run for president.

Tancredo's biggest supports did not lose. Tancredo's biggest fans seem to be Brian Bilbray and Jean Schmidt, Schmidt so much that she claimed she had Tancredo's endorsement in an ad, and Tancredo asked her to stop.
Gilchrist will probably be the Constitution party candidate. Tancredo, if Wayne Allard doesn't retire, will most likely run for president. Looks like some good candidates will be available. Tancredo and Hunter probably won't win the nomination, but Gilchrist give CONSERVATIVES an alternative should the GOP put up a McCain/Giuliani/Hagel type.

Yes, I believe so. Yesterday there was news about him (Brownback) running.
I have a hard time viewing Lou Dobbs as a conservative. I don't know a lot about the man, and I appreciate his concern for the border, but what are his conservative bonafides?
I think it's a stretch to call McCain a "liberal". Yes, he disagrees with many Freepers on immigration. But one issues does not a conservative make. He is pro-life, not a flaming anti second ammendment guy, has been anti-pork for years, supports a strong military, is a proud vet.
Compare and contrast with Hillary, someone who *is* actually a liberal. I don't see a whole lot in common.
So while Tancredo would be an interesting choice (I hope he runs to liven up the race) I don't think your take on McCain is correct.
To: Dane
LOL! Tancredo whose 3 biggest supporters(Hayworth, Graf, Hostettler) lost... And Tancredo himself won. And how do you know those are his three biggest supporters? Stop lying Dane, if you can.

Election Round Up
Seats We Won
Michele Bachman- MN's 6th
Doug Lamborn - CO's 5th
Geoff Davis - KY's 4th
Ron Lewis - Kentucky's 2nd
John Doolittle - CA's 4th
Heroes We Will Miss
John Hostettler - IN's 8th
Mike Sodrel - IN's 9th
J.D. Hayworth - AZ's 5th
"The election has had mixed results for immigration reform patriots. The good news is that we got a few great new legislators like Michele Bachman and Doug Lamborn. Pro Borders ballot measures in Arizona and Colorado were passed when the issue went straight to the voters.
There was also bad news in this election. Some of our strongest leaders in the House like John Hostettler and J.D. Hayworth were defeated. Some fresh faces who we hoped to see in Congress like Randy Graf and Vernon Robinson lost. However, we must remember that these people only lost because their opponents tried to sound like Tom Tancredo, even though they wont vote like him."

Read the article Dane and stop engaging in obfuscation.
At this point, the only hope for conservatives, and the American middle class, is Tancredo, Gilchrist or Dobbs. Let's pray that at least one of them - or someone who shares their values - is running for president in 2008.

Yeah we know Dobbs is a clown and that you have a hair up your butt for Hayworth and Tancredo. But the fact is, if you refuse to face the issues, me and about 20 million of my closest friends are going to grab you and your ilk by your collars and send you all packing out of the big tent.

I'm with you. If the GOP throws away their nomination on another HW or Dole, I can throw away my vote with a clear conscience.
