A Tallahassee circuit judge today denied Democrat Christine Jennings’ request to expedite her lawsuit challenging the outcome of her District 13 Congressional race against Republican Vern Buchanan.
The decision by Judge William Gary means the next critical event in the disputed election will occur Tuesday when the state Division of Elections begins its testing of touch-screen machines used in the election. Jennings has alleged the machines malfunctioned during the election, resulting in more than 18,000 undervotes in Sarasota County, and she has asked for a new election.
In his order, Gary said Jennings and Buchanan can have their computer experts participate as observers in the state testing of the machines.
Jennings’ lawsuit will move forward, although at a slower pace than her lawyers had originally proposed. The judge is expected to consider at later time her request for her experts to do their own independent testing of the touch-screen machines.
I don't recall Christine complaining about the voting machines when it looked like she won.
This entire election was a farce!
Anybody else here anybody say that they are kind of happy the democrats won, because at least now they don't have to hear the whining about voter fraud?
FL judges do not want to be a laughing stalk again.
They have discussed this at their judicial conference and will move with appropriate speed. Also it is before thanksgiving and they have no intention of ruining their 5 day weekend (judges unofficially take off wednesday)

Jennings' campaign has been complaining about the voting machine and the large amount of under-votes.
Does it sound like she has a case here? Or is she just complaining because she's not willing to concede defeat yet?
This is my personal opinion. The primary between Vern Buchanan and Tramm Hudson was ugly and bruising. Vern won. I suspect there were a number of Republicans who weren't enthusiastic about voting for Vern but no way in hell were they going to vote for Christine Jennings. They voted for no one and now Jennings is trying to claim those non-votes for herself.
The under-vote in the 2000 election, for the same congressional race, was 2% higher than the under-vote in 2006 that Jennings is whining about.
Hundreds of Dem dirtbags have now come out of the woodwork to claim that they punched the box next to Jennings name but a vote for Buchanan was recorded. They also lamely claim that when they brought this to the attention of election officials they were ignored because the republican controlled county was in the tank for Vern. Typical Dem posturing. If you can't win legitimately, claim fraud and conspiracy and demand a re-vote. This city is becoming too liberal.
