Nashville, Health and Gosford Park are brilliant films. I loved the multiple storylines and dialogue. I disagreed with him fervently on social and political issues, but the man was a genius. He was a director like no other.
Didn't care as much for Short Cuts or The Player.

I agree...I also really liked 'McCabe and Mrs. Miller' and I even liked his 'Short Cuts'...yet another movie industry entertainer who really needed to 'just shut up and sing/act/direct...etc'
I will miss him, though.
