Lebanese minister assassinated in attack on convoy

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Lebanon's Industry Minister Pierre Gemayel was assassinated near Beirut on Tuesday, security sources said.

They said gunmen opened fire as his convoy drove through the Christian Sin el-Fil neighborhood. Gemayel was rushed to hospital where he later died of his wounds.

Lebanon is in the throes of a political storm pitting the anti-Syrian ruling majority against the pro-Damascus opposition. The political tension threatens to spill into street confrontations.

We need to take this proxy war to Syria and Iran's homefront. There should be some way for "terrorists" (except working for us) to start targetting them.

This would accomplish a couple of goals:
1 - puts them on notice that there will be retribution

WHO was Bashir Gemayel's father?? The assassinated leader, Pierre, is the nephew of Bashir, who himself was assassinated 25 years ago. Pierre is the son of Amin Gemayel, once the Lebanese President. He is alive, and spoke out asking for calm, not for revenge.

Well CNN had the Syrian Ambassador to the UN or US on. I think Wolf Blitzer was on and he started the segment just like a American hating commie. "America is to blame for the shooting today", says the Syrian Ambassador to US. To me this shit goes on day after day and it is just such nonsense I have to laugh. No it was his uncle who was assassinated 25 years ago and it probably was the main factor in the sabra and chatila "massacres" that occurred shortly after(in my opinion they deserved it)
