I had a friend that was gay some years ago.

He was obviously unhappy with his life.
We worked at the same company, had an occasional drink together, and generally had many of the same friends at work.

He came on to me one night. I told him in a friendly, but firm, manner that I was flattered but that I was a happily married man, in love with my wife, and couldn't/wouldn't entertain any notions of that manner.
We remained on speaking terms, if not friends, until I left that company and moved to a different job.

Years later I was talking to someone that used to be a mutual friend of ours and lo and behold my, flamingly, gay friend had a girlfriend!
I asked what had happened to bring THAT about.
Our friend said that she had asked him that and he said it all started with me. When he had come on to me and I said what I did it started him thinking. He had never had a commitment of that type with another man. He had totally expected me to let him give me a BJ and go happily, I guess, on his way. When I refused and explained why he started having second thoughts about his lifestyle.

Don't tell me homosexuals are born that way. It's a choice.

Hi Just another Joe-

Your work acquaintance won't stay straight. It is highly unlikely that he will be able to resist sweaty gay temptation someday.

Great story and it's always nice to hear of someone making a change like that in life.

I am from the camp that people ARE born gay. My theory is that women under a particular kind of stress at a particular time of gestation causes changes in the hormonal makeup of the fetus/baby and causes homosexuality. Just my theory. But, I also look at it the same as, say, alcoholism. Most alcoholics claim this is genetic and/or a disease that they were born with the propensity to drink uncontrollably. But same w/ gays, IMO, you don't just say I was born this way therefore I drink myself into oblivion (although some do, many get sober--or repent). The same should be the lifestyle of gays. That they turn from this behavior and practice a life of celibacy or heterosexuality and not continue the behavior.

His article made alot of sense in that (even though he didn't directly say it) that it is completely unacceptable in the gay community to state you want to live a straight life. They go OFF on the Exodus group and anyone that talks of turning away or repenting from gay life.

Regardless, its a very sad life and he's right about the misery. I know several gays and they are all miserable. Every one of them. You cannot bond with the same sex like you do with the opposite sex. God didn't make us that way.

You told him you were flattered? Seriously? As a woman, I can't imagine the reaction most hetero men would have is "flattered".

"I was flattered but that I was a happily married man, in love with my wife"

Hard to understand how any person would be flattered for attracting a sexual deviant. Incidentally, most male homos are pedophiles and were molested themselves as kids. In today's intolerant society, homos will never admit their wish to molest young boys to normal (aka, straight) people. Their desire for sex with children is still in the closet.

Attracting a homo is not unlike attracting a dog to hump your leg or attracting a sibling to the bedroom. Sexual deviancy crosses species lines and has no boundaries when it comes to age and close relatives.

Wow, great story Joe. What is funny is that as I was reading your post, I was really thinking that this poster was a truly cool FReeper, then as I finished and saw that it was you that posted it, well, my suspicion was confirmed.

Have a great Thanksgiving.
