I told him in a friendly, but firm, manner that I was flattered but that I was a happily married man, in love with my wife, and couldn't/wouldn't entertain any notions of that manner. You told him you were flattered? Seriously? As a woman, I can't imagine the reaction most hetero men would have is "flattered".
