It's been almost 10 years since I left Korea, but if my memory serves me correctly, I'd be willing to bet these "houses" were the splinter shacks built directly against the perimiter wall at Camp Humphreys in Pyongtaek...

I was thinking the same thing. There or outside the back gate. I remember the ROK Army has an adjacent/joined camp with Camp Humphreys (west side?) and another out the back gate a couple KMs.

Oh, the memories.
