According to the WaPost, "It wasn't that many months ago that Allen was seen by political insiders as already in the top tier of prospective Republican presidential candidates. In April 2005, he finished first in a National Journal magazine survey of insiders asked to predict the 2008 GOP nominee. In May, Allen finished second behind Arizona Sen. John McCain."

Washington Post huh?
/sarc Now that's a real reliable, trutrthful source for you right there.
sarc off When did the Washington Post last speak the truth about ANYTHING?
Is this the same Washington Post that virtually run a shameless campaign for Allen's opponent, Jim Webb, and attacked Allen non-stop over the "macaca" remark, and blew it out of all proportion?
And you believe their rubbish about Allen?
Excuse me while I throw up will you?
And BTW, I still don't see any poll from the American public in that quote of yours.
The Washington Post quoting anonymous, unknown, "insiders" is not something that I am going to accept, given their record on lying about everything to do with Republicans.
There is not a SINGLE poll, that had Allen ahead of either McCain or Guiliani.
Not even close.
He was always far behind either of them.
Hint : Secret Washington Post "pols" from "insiders" don't count.

Got me. I was too busy watching Republicans at FR chewing on Allen over macaca. It wasn't a popular remark, even to non-readers of the WaPost. Other than being surprised Allen could be so dumb in front of cameras, I stayed out of it.

If you keep repeating it long enough, I still won't think they mean anything two years out. Your confidence in them is a little like watching those videos of Chamberlain's triumphant return from Munich, waving his little scrap of paper.
