Don't make the mistake of thinking I'm liberal in any way because of that comment. In case you hadn't noticed the words "gay" and "homosexuals" showed up ALOT in the original post. Almost enough to call it hysterics.
I'm from the "hate the sin, love the sinner" crowd. You know, the non-judgemental Christian types? The type of people Christ actually wanted us to be?
This does by no means imply that I believe they should be married or have special rights. I DO NOT. I also don't want their lifestyle shoved down my throat. But reading a post intending to scare me away from Giuliani because he has gay friends or hired a gay person sounds like homophobia to me. No one can name me a Republican in the past few decades that HASN'T hired a gay person.

Methinks HelloooClareece makes plenty of sense.

Christian types? The type of people Christ actually wanted us to be?I am an atheist... If you deny Genesis as a Christian or a Jew, you may has well deny the whole thing...
"If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead." (Luke 16:31)
I see homosexuals as completely deranged people with a religious fetish for the perversion of human anatomical function... they should be nowhere near any seat of political power...
If you think being judgmental is a sin, then too bad, your version of Christianity is warped. I do not have the power to condemn, but I do have the duty to protect my children from such filth.

But I can't name a Republican, let alone a conservative, who got into a messy divorce and shacked up with two gay guys.
It's not like the mayor of NYC didn't have plenty of other choices he could have made. That choice tells us a lot about him, much like his remarks about funding his daughter's abortion while claiming to be a good Catholic.
I'm a Baptist but the bishop of my diocese has told such people to consider themselves excommunicated. The archbishop has told his flock that the Dim party is anti-Church and anti-life, making it very clear to them. This is one reason why we're considered to be such a conservative state. So we have a very conservative Catholic voter base here. A Rudy could wreak havoc on the party, on national legislation and weaken the Roman Church's moral authority in state politics.
Nothing you say about the Perils Of Hillary make voting for Giuliani worth it to me. As a Republican, as a conservative and as a citizen of a Red state, Rudy is just wrong.

Sexual Orientation. Exit polls conducted in 2000, 2004 and 2006 indicate that 23-25% of gay and lesbian Americans voted for the GOP.
I get more than a little tired of hearing how Republicans are such gay-haters. If true, then why do so many self-identified homosexuals (and many more unidentified) vote for us?
