I agree. The goal has to be persuading our county and state parties and educating the voting public. Yeah, it's a tall order because of the opposition we face. But it has to be done to win.
The vicious rhetoric coming from the likes of Buchanan, and at times, Tancredo, do nothing to win folks to our ideas.
When people turn the radio on and hear slurs and slams they are not inclined to listen to our ideas.
The thing we need to remember is that living in "red" states it is still possible to do something that is nearly *impossible* in most blue states: to have genuinely conservative Republicans win statewide elections.
We owe it to our oppressed conservative brethren in places like Maryland and Oregon to nominate and elect genuine conservatives -- especially to the US Senate, but also to governorships, Congress...
