We need receipts. Every person that votes should get a number with an e-mail address, so that they can go on line and make sure their vote was recorded correctly. I voted all republican but how do I really know? We have check and bill statements and get a receipt for all our purchases. It is so important , to avoid theft, many merchants will offer free merchandise if you don't receive one. Voting, one of the most important things we do, has no paper trail. We are asked to trust a country of a hostile leader that makes the things. Machines disappeared. Cards disappeared. Voters were rejected. Polls stayed open late, a soft wear company admits there were problems and who knows what else but we are supposed to trust the system?

Excellent suggestion, Cindy, and very well stated.

Before the rats start whining about the disadvantaged not having access to the internet to check their votes, I ask them to visit their local library and observe the usage of public computers - it is constant, appointments are made to use them. Access IS available.
