Including on Remembrance Day, a.k.a. British Veterans Day.
Their pathetic, incredible explanation: The store has stood by their dress policy, saying: There is a long-standing tradition at Harrods that would normally preclude customers who are wearing non-civilian attire from entering the store. A lot of people assume that somebody in uniform is either there on official duty, which could cause them alarm, or they assume theyre a member of staff and ask them where the lavatories are and so on.

It's totally reprehensible, and I want nothing to do with Harrod's while it's owned by this idiot Egyptian.
HARRODS is owned by Mohammed Al-Fayed. The Brits have long ago forgotten the days when the American and British military saved their lives. Shame on them!
this family SAYS princes di wanted to marry into that family.
It is apparent he was not able to buy the princess in life so now he owns her in death.
Really! My first thought when seeing a young man in an armed services uniform is to ask him where the powder room is. What an insult for Harrod's to say that.
They should have said, 'welcome, we're glad you're here, and 20% off everything as a thanks for your service to the nation.'
Glad I read the thread.

No, she did not. That was all in Mohammad Fayed's imagination. He thought it would give him an edge in his (failed!) attempt at British citizenship.
"Sorry old chap. Can't come in, against policy you see. No, can't start a formal investigation either without crime-scene interviews. Carry on now!"
Harvey Nichols is a much better store.
Or Fortnum and Masons if its food you are after.
It would be fitting, I'd think. Did you go to the link? There was another story there, about a wounded British soldier who was in his hospital bed being accosted by a muslim for killing people in Afghanistan. GRRRRRR!
A few. And I've seen it happen quite a few times as well. And I've been in a work uniform in a place and had people ask me where the john was. It happens.
I remember the one in Philly. They use to have the best mac and cheese.
A few years back, I took my nephew and niece to London they were aged 13 and 14. What a wonder adventure they had. Not without some embarrassing moments. Such as when my niece told the Beefeater that he had a cool costume. My nephew quickly made it right by telling her that is not a custume, it is a UNIFORM.
Of course my nephew had his moment too, when asked if he enjoyed Les Mes by the cabbie, his reply, "it was okay but they sang too much."
The part that still stands out was when they both went into Fortum & Masons and bought 8 containers of Spotted Dick. They just could not image anyone selling anything with a name like that.
Wow, what a devious insult! And, so, what harm would be done?
Wow, good poem!
That is because Harrod's is owned by a souless Sand Rat of the Egyptian persuasion.
Marks and Sparks is less costly and does not have a plebian problem.
Ok hit the US catalogs. Most ship over the pond. Better value and MUCH less PC-BS.
