These people are certifiable. Also, they try to sound poetic and speak in faux Olde English, but it just sounds stupid.

The vows for a Scientology wedding are more than a tad strange. Quoting from the book “The Background Ministry, Ceremonies & Sermons of the Scientology Religion,” MSNBC reports that the minister asks a bride:

And do you take
His fortune
At its prime and ebb
And seek
With him best fortune
For us all?
Do you?”

The minister then tells the groom:

Now, (Tom Cruise),
girls need clothes
And food and
Tender happiness and frills
A pan, a comb, perhaps a cat
All caprice if you will
But still
They need them.
Do you then
Provide?
Do you?

Looks like that cat is a little busy at the moment...

"a pan, a comb, perhaps a cat."

"... an umbrella, a can of Spam, and a hot air balloon."

How romantic.

If you're fortunate enough to be invited to the reception, don't forget to try the placenta on rye.

It makes me sick to see them on the news! This mess should be confined to "Entertainment Tonight."

I can't stand Tom "Has Been" Cruise.

That's funny! "A pan, a comb, perhaps a cat". So his obligations to her are something for cooking his food, something to keep her looking pretty so he doesn't lose interest, and something other than a baby for her to take care of.

And her primary obligation to him is to support him in his career.

Remember when you used to be an actress, Katie?

How can there be a "traditional" scientology wedding ceremony if the fake religion was only made up a few decades ago?

I know how to ward off Scientologists. Have a Republican disposition.

When I was in college, my girl friend and I were approached by Scientologists. We didn't know at the time because it was mostly unknown then.

We were having a snack in an almost empty dinner, which had all tables. We were sitting across from each other. This clean cut, good looking, young college students looking, couple came in and decided to ignore all the empty tables and sit at ours.

They had books with them. They placed the books between them and us on the table. The top book, a very large one which had the title "Scientology" was placed so that title faced us.

They struck up a conversation. My girl friend who was a friendly extravert responded and then asked if that- Scientology- was a college course? They started into their sales pitch. My friendly girl friend was listening intensely. I was getting pissed at their intrusion.

At one instance they asked us what we "wanted out of life". Being the mercenary capitalist that I am, and wanting them to leave, I replied "money and power". My girl friend shot me a dirty look. The PC response is peace and love and happiness.

My answer resulted in them completely shutting me out of the continuing sales pitch. They continued on my girl friend until I asked them to get lost. And told my girl friend we were leaving. Another dirty look towards me.

Cultists prey on friendly open people. Republicans/Conservatives/Meanies like us are safe.

Maybe it's too bad. They might have made me a movie star.

A model of polite understatement.

I always considered them Exalted Major Grand Master Roaring Assholes, with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Scientology is another face of black magic. Hubbard was A. Crowley's disciple and just found another way of stealing souls away into madness and Darkness.
