In January, the state republican party heads will vote for general chairman for the Republican National Committe. Bush is pushing Mel Martinez, who has a "D" immigration rating from Americans for Better Immigration.
There is also another post up for election, that of chair (not general chair). I don't know what the difference is, but the guy being pushed for that post is Mike Duncan, a national committeman from Ky.
Does anybody have any info on this guy, specifically his record on immigration, spending, big government, etc?
Duncan must be one of the 'unknown unknowns'.
My question is, "are these always separate positions, or is the 2nd one filled only when one is filled by say, a sitting US Senator?" The last time I remember something like this was Laxalt and Fahrenkopf, but maybe the 2nd position has higher visibility only when the 1st position is held by a sitting US Senator.

Ha! *LOL* You beat me!
Yeah, I saw the standard propaganda blurb on the Repub web site. I'm not sure how much of that banana oil I believe.
I want the real scoop on this guy.
