"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
Its hard to hold out any hope for Europe.
Screw Europe. The Brits are getting rid of Tony Blair. Their next leader won't have the cojones to stand up against Islamofascism.
Exsqueeze me?
It will be the United States of Mexico!
I refuse to aid Europe with my blood and treasure when the next war comes. I refuse to let my children do it as well.
I watched my daughter ship out to rescue Kuwait, my grandson just turned 14. I won't let him get as "gung ho" as I raised his mother to be.
We will have a rough time saving our nation, Europe can go to Hell, or learn to fight.
There are plenty of conservative Europeans, they simply don't have a voice. Just as an example, France has I think 4 television stations, none are completely private. Not too many people have cable in France. The media is contolled too an extreme. Yet, I have had several EU friends tell me they are concerned with the Muslims and are glad we are fighting in Iraq.
Keep in mind the world is fluid and so are the people who inhabit the old blue marble.
I currently work for a firm that is enjoying a resurgence specifically because we have some excellent and exceptionally talentes Latino players.
"and are glad we are fighting in Iraq."
That's the problem - they're glad WE'RE doing the fighting and bleeding.
Europe's new name will be Eurariba. We will just be Mexico.I would LOL if it wasn't so freaking sad.
True, but I think they are alittle envious of our zeal.
Bienvenidos a los Estados Unidos de Mejico!!!
So when the US gets filled up will they go to Canada next?
But we ought not to let our bitterness becloud our judgment. Much of our bitterness should be directed against ourselves. The Europeans did not ask us to fight the war in Iraq. As a matter of fact, many of them begged us not to do so. In the event, they were right and we were wrong. I was certainly wrong.
Now the European alliance is virtually shattered. America is split in Twain and the left is on the march, having taken over the legislative branch of our government trading mostly on the dismay about our situation in Iraq. Our President has become a lame-duck and our general, General Abazaid, has just told Congress that we cannot increase troop level in Iraq by as few as only 20,000 troops because even that modest increase cannot be sustained! And yet we cannot get out because that would lead to catastrophic aftermath.
I suspect the sentiments on this thread are more broadly shared throughout the whole of America, that is, our own people are increasingly unwilling to fight under these circumstances. We have succeeded only in demonstrating to would-be terrorists in the Arab/ Muslim world that we cannot effectively fight an asymmetrical war of attrition in the lands we so easily can conquer. Should we expect our sons and daughters to flock to the induction stations to fight this kind of war?
Small wonder the Europeans are feeling a bit smug. All too soon they will begin feeling real fear
Decent article with good links

Hindsight is always 20/20. Let's see how the country reacts next time the terrorists strike HERE, as they most assuredly will. WE can't blame it on the U.S. Our 'allies' are whining because they're rotting from within. We should take a lesson from them. BTW, appreciate your non-PCness (Nathan Bedford Forrest, who'da thunk?). "Fustest with the mostest."
