Unless you have access to the man's heart, I don't know if you can fairly judge whether or not he has reformed. And the fact that you are so concerned about his well-being may move you to pray for him.
But insisting that your taste in entertainment should be the standard is foolhardy. You will not win the argument that way. In fact, I'm more tempted to tune into his program to see if there is anything offensive there or not.
From what I saw on Fox and Friends in the past, he is not a debased human being. I find O'Reilley to be much more offensive to my sensibilities. And it is not up to me to crucify Mancow for deeds that I not only wasn't aware of, but they also did not affect me. I have no personal stake in the matter. I am not his judge.
Hater!
Accuse me of something I'm doing please; not what I'm not doing, PYW.
I don't care if you watch Muller and judging his eternal soul is God's business. I don't expect his Saturday evening show to be X-rated.
Maybe you'd like to reread what I've written and contrast that with what you think I've said?
It's a Saturday night show, not a family show.
Don't people have more important things going on with our pathetic media to bitch about than THIS?
If you love me, you'll hate my sin.
Funny, Jezebel worshipped Moloch. There are some analogies there, not just being a man/kine, but I won't divert.
I've read your posts.
I just do not feel that it is right to judge a program that I have not seen. I firmly believe in the power of the remote control, and I will say that 99% of what passes on television as interesting is garbage.
But that doesn't mean I'm going to go after the producers of Desperate Housewives or Larry King and DEMAND that they stop airing such drivel.
My brain is not easily swayed by the media. THUS, I'm not too concerned about what may or may not be aired on a machine that is NOT TURNED ON, DUE TO DISINTEREST!
By the same token, should I be attacking the LA Times for their hateful content? I don't think so! I'm not a subscriber, so I don't care what their reporters pass off as news.
Life is TOO short to get all worked up about Mancow. For that matter, I'm not too concerned about Darfur. You know why? There isn't much I can do about it!
I have a life.
I'm not judging his show, either. I've said that he, Erich Muller should not be given the approbation of having a mainstream television show, unless he apologizes/renounces his atrocious prior abuse of the public airwaves and of young minds.
He has caused untold harm.
You've struck a nerve? I wasn't even replying to you, and I have no idea what you posted.
*SHRUG*
Bug off - no love here freak.
No, that was Atlas, not Jezebel. ;-` Well, she probably did alot of that, too.
You demonstrate that well.
You're only judging him, not his show, even though he is the main component of his show? Is that what you mean to say? Yeah, how do you work that out in your brain?
And again, it is the judgement that concerns me. I cannot judge something that I haven't seen.
And if your mind is already set against the host of the show... odds are you are against the show in which you get to see the host perform. You do see that, don't you? That IS what you are saying.
I do judge that it's simply a fact that he did what he did and said what he said on his radio and TV programs and those were very evil acts, harmful to many.
It's just as obvious that someone who has done such ill should apologize and renounce the kinds of things he did, otherwise we shouldn't hold him up to the world and say in effect, "Look at this man and how he gained mainsream celebrity. You too, can follow in his example!"
It's a matter of principle (or not).
Somehow I don't think they'll bother. The sad thing is elections come every two years. News networks are exceptionally rare and just about all of them are rat-based propaganda machines.
I think some of that has to do with their missing-blonde-girl-of-the-week journalism that EEE mentioned.
I also tend to agree with you and would also point out that some of the fickle "centrists" have been in Iraq-is-a-bummer mode and joined the neo-peaceniks.
Then your problem should be with FOX. Who knows what the content of his program will be like?
Personally, I cannot judge him, for I never saw what he did. It has no effect on my life.
I wish you luck in your crusade. But, I do think it will fall on deaf ears.
So which of the following would you agree with:
Young man listens to Mancow which drives him to cocaine addiction.
Or
Cocaine addiction leads young man to listen to Mancow.
Somebody has a thumb up his anus alright...
That's funny, I was just thinking the same thing about you.
How does having different standards of behavior than you have make someone a hater?
