Rove May Leave Within Weeks
U.S. News & World Report ^ | November 17, 2006

Posted on 11/17/2006 12:00:02 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

The rumors that chief White House political architect Karl Rove will leave sometime next year are being bolstered with new insider reports that his partisan style is a hurdle to President Bush's new push for bipartisanship. A key Bush advisor tells the US News Political Bulletin, "Karl represents the old style and he's got to go if the Democrats are going to believe Bush's talk of getting along." The advisor said a departure might come in "weeks, not months." A Rove ally, however, noted that he has a record of out-witting his critics.

He needs to go for blowing the election

You ARE being sarcastic, right? The RINOs, and other chicken-hearts, lost this election...from their overspending to being soft on border control.

Fight the Democrats!
Beat the Democrats!

"Getting along" is NOT an option!

When conservatives "compromise" they lose!

If they were half as critical of the party as they are of the voters who didn't rally behind the slop the GOP offered, we might be in business.

I think this sums it up. I would LOVE to see some party loyalists clearly state each plank in the national platform. And solicit feedback from the remaining Republican Congressional districts as to whether WE want to leave the planks rough-hewn.

Silly things like Social Security reform, immigration policy reform, and even healthcare policy review (trumpet the prescription drug benefit, search for more improvement). A serious and candid discussion on Iraq in specific, and foreign policy in general. Mexico and South America are important neighbors. They should be treated as such. Protected, praised, and punished where it is in our (and their) best interests.

Well, there is my 2 cents.

If he has anything to do with Jose Arbusto's Hispandering agenda I say good riddance. It's a loser for Republicans and the country.

"He needs to go for blowing the election."

He blew nothing.

You can't help if Democrats went out and campaigned as Republicans.

Wait for the Blue Dog Democrats start their new congress next year and see how quickly they revert back to their leftish ideals.

All bait and switch just to get Democrats back into control of both houses.

The Blue Dog Democrats will be Dead Dog Democrats when it become election time in 2008.

Don't make voters angry.

We elected him to NOT get along with Ds.

And he's spent his whole six years doing just that. I'm not sure I understand what the article is talking about "a new push for bipartisanship". Isn't that the same junk Bush was spouting when he got into office?

Rove has always been less than impressive.

He beat Ann Richards by six points in 1994 ONLY because a large number of voters thought they were electing George H.W. Bush as governor. I don't remember what the exact exit polling number was, but it was several times larger than the margin of victory.

He got credit for turning Texas Republican, even though the Democrats made it a point to elect incompetent state chairs and nominate the most liberal or unethical candidates they could.

In 2000 he barely beat a somewhat unpopular VP who ran a woeful campaign.

In 2004 he again barely beat an even more unpopular candidate who ran an even worse campaign.

I never understood where this "genius" thing came from.

First Rumsfeld, now Rove! Bush really is throwing his team members overboard fast to appease Queen Nancy and her minions. I really am losing a lot of the former respect that I had for our president since he looks like he is giving away in the entire show to the 'Rats!

Three weak kneed Mormons in Washington - maybe more. Carl Rove, Harry Reed, and Mit Romney (A bad decision for Washington).

I hope its true. Rove has been a disaster.

"Fool."

I gotta agree with you there.
Rove has been one of the best political operatives ever in the history of this county.
No question about that. And what happened in November doesn't change that fact.
Just think, Klinton lost the House in his very first midterm elections.
The fact that Republicans have been able to control congress until the 6th year of the Bush administration is virtually unheard of.
It's only happened on very very few occasions in past American history.

"Poor Harry Reid, he can't get out of town.

Bupartisan bloodbath coming soon."

I'm in Nevada and did some of the behind the scenes digging on Reid land stuff and the GSting scandal. How Harry missed getting creamed before the election is beyond me. Big coverup waiting to get blowed up good.
