Reactors Being Shipped to South Africa
SAN DIEGO, CALIF. (BUSINESS WIRE) Nov. 13, 2006 Green Star Products, Inc. (US OTC: GSPI) today announced that it has signed an agreement with De Beers Fuel Limited of South Africa to build 90 biodiesel reactors.
Each of the biodiesel reactors will be capable of producing 10 million gallons of biodiesel each year for a total production capacity of 900,000,000 gallons per year when operating at full capacity, which is 4 times greater than the entire U.S. output in 2006.
The 2-ton reactors will be built by GSPI at their Glenns Ferry Facility in Idaho and delivered over the next 18 months. The first reactor was shipped November 8, 2006 by airfreight to South Africa.
The cost of operating a biodiesel plant could soon be going down, and hopefully the savings will make their way to the pump.
Reactor1 Green Star Products International (GSPI) of San Diego says it has developed technology that can cut the time required to convert raw materials into fuel from hours to minutes. GSPI is modularizing the processing machinery at a factory in Idaho and landed a contract to sell 90 units to De Beers Fuel Limited of South Africa.
GSPI is building three processing plants in the U.S., but if the technology is as good as advertised, we should see dozens more in the near future. In the last week alone new biodiesel plants were announced in Virginia, Washington, Mississippi, Missouri, and four in Wisconsin.
Biodiesel costs 75 cents more per gallon at the pump, according to the Energy Management Institute, so a more competitive price would surely spur demand. And a new report says increasing biodiesel output could create thousands of jobs and prevent money from leaving the country.

Rest In Peace, old friend, your work is finished.......
If you want on or off the DIESEL "KNOCK" LIST just FReepmail me........
This is a fairly HIGH VOLUME ping list on some days......
I love it. Screw those rag heads.
it has developed technology that can cut the time required to convert raw materials into fuel from hours to minutes.
This is HUGH!.......
Our next vehicle will run on bio diesal.
We have several friends & neighbors with BD vehicles....I love the french fry aroma...
They must be mentioning that the biodiesel production of the US to date is quadrupled with this order of 90 reactors.
What is it converting to make biodiesel there in South Africa?
Wildebeests?........
If B-75 is mixture of 75% Bio-D and 25% Coal Based D, then we have achieved self suffiency..........
I think we may see very soon a breakthrough in coal liquefaction that could make it very viable to turn it into low-sulfur diesel fuel. Mix 25% of that with 75% biodiesel fuel and you will get a very clean-burning fuel, especially with the new generation of diesel engines with modern exhaust emission controls that reduce NOx and diesel particulate output to meet even the CARB 2009 standard.
Why pay farmers NOT to farm their land? What if we allowed them to grow hemp on that idled land? If we weren't shipping all our money overseas, we probably wouldn't have to subsidize our FARM PROGRAM but I digress:-)
